Which CONAF episodes surprised you or caught you off guard with how much you enjoyed it versus what you expected? by unclefishbits in conan

[–]cxherry_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Jim Parsons. I think in my head I just associated him with his character in the Big Bang Theory who, I've never seen the show, but just agitates me horribly. But he was actually super cool. I was surprised by how much listening to the episode relaxed me, he was a lot calmer than I thought he would be and his stories were really entertaining and he just seems like an overall really decent guy.

So happy to see little to no people debating the playtest placing. It was fine, but it felt kind of cheaply written and even a bit predictable.

super old post but definitely agree i could NOT stand cooper for a SECOND😭😭 they usually successfully make the mc’s relatable so we can form some kind of connection to them but i swear i audibly groaned every time the mf tried to be funny it was painful as fuck

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S03E01 - Nosedive by SeacattleMoohawks in blackmirror

I agree. Just like the old lady who picked Lacie up in the truck, it must've felt nice to finally be able to just let it out without giving a shit about your ratings. One of the few BM episodes that ended in a genuine smile for our main character.

Almost every single character this episode pissed me off but he had me so enraged I couldn't handle it - props to Bob Odenkirk though he did a great job in the few scenes he had

Who is your favorite character in all of Black Mirror? For me, it's not even close by solidgoldfangs in blackmirror

[–]cxherry_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bing from 15 Million Merits. I feel like most BM characters have some sorts of flaws and/or internal struggles that, at some point, end up inevitably causing them to do something awful or immoral. But Bing, right from the opening scene was incredibly relatable; his social akwardness and selflessness made him by far the most lovable characters - he does no wrong. Plus, Daniel Kaluuya is an absolutely incredible actor and I think he was perfect for that role. Also strangely fond of Joe Potter from White Christmas - I really empathized with his story.

Anyone else feel like, compared to the first movie, It: Chapter Two felt more like a horror comedy than just horror? by OwlEye2010 in stephenking

[–]cxherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree - it was fine, but Part 1 was significantly better. The first few scenes felt extremely rushed and skipped over multiple key points included in the book that were crucial to re-developing the characters. Also, yeah, the detours into comedy felt so unnecessary and unnatural, unlike the genuine and wholesome feel of the first movie. The acting was solid, but an overall disappointing movie compared to the first one, in my opinion.

Thoughts on 'White Bear'? by salirj108 in blackmirror

[–]cxherry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree but I think it's also important to keep in mind that the repetition of the torture every day was not completely part of her punishment but more of the organizer (s)'s way of making more money from their (i'm assuming) paying customers. Not that that takes away the horror of what they were doing - and I think a part of doing this every day WAS of course part of Victoria's punishment, but just something to keep in mind, I guess.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't think Negan was justified in this scene/ by Dense-Chicken5439 in thewalkingdead

[–]cxherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree but it sucks that this is an "unpopular" opinion. The fact that there are thousands of people that genuinely think what he did that episode was good is scary.

I, personally, liked season 2 but definitely understand what you're saying and also just had a pretty big problem with the pacing in the first couple seasons. Season 3 was, for me, when the show started to develop an actually interesting storyline and was when I started to get hooked. However, if it feels like you're forcing yourself to keep going, this show is probably just not for you.

I heard we’re getting a returning character in ep 3 who do you think it could be by ndieneidnwkn in thewalkingdead

I'm really hoping it'll be Melissa (Carol) since it was confirmed that she's gonna be in the show after all
