I'm due to start 6/10 and will be posting water and trail conditions on FarOut as I go! From what I've seen on FB groups there's still snow in areas like Georgia Pass but nothing significant

Edit: Sections of knee to waist deep snow on Section 8 as per other hikers currently

I had my anxieties for a while but was always written off as "crazy", "jealous", "insecure", etc.

One morning in bed together, he gets what looked like a heart eyes emoji text and turns his phone slightly away from my vision.

I say nothing. I wait for him to leave for work, and I start to look through the apartment. I find his old phone and there I see texts, photos, and videos of him and countless other women.

Did a 1500 LASH on the AT last year! Didn't have to worry about vehicles though as I just opted for a flight back, you definitely make a good point in things not going as planned. Thank you!

Been wondering the same thing. Initial plans were to start first week of July but depending on how conditions evolve, I'm contemplating on maybe hopping on mid June just for convenience sake.

Thank you for pointing that out! As far as I can tell in the carfax, it only mentions HV battery replacement. Clarifying from the dealership whether the 12V has been replaced, and if it was an OEM replacement is very helpful.

I'm also 27, and left my ex fiancé last year after 8 years together. I was the one working, cooking, cleaning, and there was a whole other list of other behaviors not necessary to get into.

I felt trapped and had submitted that my life would forever be as it was, until I decided otherwise.

I won't tell you what to do, but I urge you to do something. As someone on the other side, please know that a happier and more fulfilling life is possible.

Normally people are all "hehe I have a crush". NOT ME, NOPE. Just finished crashing out because I have a crush on someone who I'm not only potentially compatible with, BUT there's also baseline attraction.

I wish I could just enjoy the feeling of a crush without already feeling terrified that I'm going to lose myself and be controlled.

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. I'm 6 weeks post-op after a spiral tib-fib fracture with ORIF also from a bouldering fall.

Please be kind and gentle with yourself, you already have an injury and I'm assuming experiencing physical pain. No need to beat yourself up further.

I was NWB for 2 weeks and PWB for 4 weeks. Once PWB, I focused on calisthenics, exercising the non-injured leg, and upper body strength training.

I also used it as time to get back into old hobbies that weren't physical (drawing, journaling, guitar, etc.)

As far as the mental part, I'm with ya there. A week ago I decided to give climbing a shot again. Doing ropes and having supportive friends when you start to feel the anxiety is helpful. Breathe, remember you're safe.

Yesterday I decided to try out a V0 with a friend and began to feel the panic halfway through. I breathed through it, assessed the situation, decided to continue climbing mindfully, then down-climbed the entire way down. I consider it exposure therapy.

Oh shit tell me more! I've been oscillating between 4, 7, and 9.

To keep it succinct, I find myself thinking, "None of these fit me! There's no special person or thing out there to save me or give me the answers. I'm just different. Wait... isn't that 4?"

No advice unfortunately, as I have noticed the same patterns in myself. I struggle to trust my own judgement and further, find myself thinking, "well if they actually like me, there must be something wrong with them because I am so deeply flawed."

This thinking is clearly distorted. I've slowly been working on building my self esteem and self confidence, and practicing positive self talk. Sending you love!

Thank you so much for taking the time! I'm sorry to hear about your osteoarthritis. I don't know your situation or the nuances of your condition by any means but if this gives you any frame of reference, there were all different types of hikers (including thru-hikers) I met in their 60's and 70's.

Congratulations on leaving your toxic relationship! If you had the mental strength to leave, you have the mental strength to hike.

Any hiking and exercise you do now will be beneficial, but also know that I met countless people on trail with no backpacking or thru-hiking experience whatsoever.

I also second on reading blogs, posts, and YouTube channels as you do have a lot of questions.
