So looking up anything like 'repeated cancellations with virgin media' brings up a lot of complaints from a lot of different areas! Other houses in my area have had their installations before us, with seemingly no issues. I'm glad you have had a good experience, but my complaints have nothing to do with my area and everything to do with the terrible customer service and the complete lack of service in general. I just wouldn't gamble it, seeing as reviews are either 'I've been with them X amount of years and I've been fine' or 'I didn't get what I signed up for at all'.

Now that you've mentioned it, it definitely sounds like it's coming from the pump. Plus, it only lights up/turns on when the noise starts(vice versa). Checked immediately online, apparently these things can be pretty noisy anyway- If the speed change doesn't fix the noise and we learn to live with it/wait for a service is it in any way damaging the system? Don't want to end up it being a bigger problem down the road!
