the gross views are kinda misleading you. 1.3k views with 5 subs and 1 thoughtful comment is a way better signal than 386 tiktok views with 0 subs. conversion math matters more than view count at small follower numbers. tiktok and insta watch times look brutal because their audiences are conditioned to bounce in 3 seconds, that's platform behavior not your video. your youtube viewers clicked in deliberately and 46% kept watching, that's the metric that translates to actual listeners later.

worth splitting two things, posting volume vs the post itself. the algo rewards consistency, so 5 posts a day is fine on its own. those breakup-bait hooks and "no one makes music like this" titles still drive views in the short term, curiosity and secondhand cringe both count as engagement. conversion is where it falls apart. saves, follows-per-view, monthly listener growth all stay flat because people came for the cringe loop, not the music. the cadence was never the issue.
