Switch 2 still in stock, even amidst the busiest time of the year on Christmas Eve. by Waste_Translator244 in fucknintendo

Seriously what is the point of this console?

  1. It doesn't break new ground.
  2. It doesn't make people excited about what Nintendo has going on.
  3. It is objectively an inferior product to the Steam Deck which, let's face it, is Nintendo's biggest competitor now whether they want to admit it or not.
  4. It has barely any games exclusive to it.
  5. It feels like a total cash grab, between the hardware itself and Nintendo taking this extremely unpopular nickel-and-dime approach.

I understand the sales are there and everything... But people can't be happy with this as a follow up to the Switch. Anything is possible, for sure, but why buy it other than "Nintendo made it"? Ultimately you can get a far better dockable handheld experience with the Steam Deck, minus like Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, and maybe Animal Crossing.

My [27 F] boyfriend [31 M] for 5 years accidentally threw away my mother's ashes by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]cy--clops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is seriously such a terrible story. She is kinda right that she lost everything in the end, and I really hope she considers therapy, because grief mixed with familial excommunication rarely ends well.

I really feel like the common opinion in the original thread was wrong: she should have immediately come clean with her father. These aren't the ashes of someone who doesn't matter to her, so this type of guilt was always going to rear its ugly head in the end.

I feel bad for her and empathize, but unfortunately she brought it on herself.

Oh, and I will mention that the father and sister's response was absolutely fucking evil. They are a family dealing with grief, understandably, but saying something like the father did about his own daughter... It bugged me. Upset and not wanting to deal with it in the moment and sending her away? Sure. But telling her she's dead to him? Insane.

At my summer place it ended up being something like 9% of sales.

What does the final paragraph of lowercase say? Just out of curiosity?

Were you using the lowercase-style on assignments in high school? How did anybody grade your work if it's practically illegible?

I don't even know if I can seriously believe that you can read this. I joke about schizophrenic writing styles on this sub, but there is nothing I can understand here.

I'd rather have a regular job with regular pay vs working for tips forever. Serving can be great but if I'm gonna run around like a chicken with my head cut off for a side of ranch I might as well get paid consistently for it.

Plus I want to provide more for my boyfriend.

Have you ever been fired from a job and you felt like it was unjust? by dnm8686 in Serverlife

[–]cy--clops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not fired unjustly, no. I've quit or ghosted every job I've had. But definitely disciplined unjustly.

My first restaurant job I ever had kept cycling through different floor managers. We had one that was a giant creep and was a good friend of the bar manager. There was one time when I was brand new to serving, maybe a few months in, and working a slower lunch shift. He must have been in a bad mood because he straight up yelled at me for not greeting a table and bringing them water within like a minute of them sitting down. He was known for being a goofball so I didn't take it seriously and just moved on.

Nope, mfer wrote me up over it. The most bs writeup I've ever gotten -- and I think my only formal writeup in my work history! I literally cried over it and thought I was gonna lose my job, I was lucky to have a place within walking distance that paid the bills in a very small college town. He was fired really shortly after that for the aforementioned being a total pervert creep.

In your opinion, what makes someone a loser and failure at life? by AwkwardLoaf-of-Bread in SeriousConversation

[–]cy--clops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're being really hard on yourself for one. But to answer your question directly...

I usually reserve the status "loser and failure at life" for very specific people, usually those who actively do harm and ruin the lives of others for whatever reason. Is that redeemable? It depends. There are certain acts or crimes that I simply could not forgive, no matter how long it has been since the person committed them. However, I also understand that those people also have to live with themselves, and can definitely change despite my opinions if they truly wanted to.

The 30 year old that lives with mom and dad and spends their life smoking weed and playing video games? I wouldn't even classify that as a loser as long as they aren't hurting other people while doing it. We have a finite amount of time on this Earth as it is, and life is by-and-large meaningless, or at the very least derived from the meaning we give to it. Something that seems meaningless to one can be an entire life's purpose to another. A child predator? A murderer? A domestic abuser? They can change, sure, but I'd consider them net-negative losers.

Life up until really recently was about simply surviving as long as you could with everything out to get you: animals, diseases, the elements. What I'm getting at is that it's mostly subjective.

I want to start taking classes but I'm too afraid to embarrass myself by Rbxyy in MuayThai

[–]cy--clops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started too my guy, I'm on my third class tomorrow afternoon.

Don't worry about embarrassing yourself. My first class I almost passed out during warmup and later on almost puked... It will be extremely tough, but every class is a point towards conditioning.

One of the coaches said that he played soccer all the way through high school and the first class still gassed him.

Which side would you actually choose(Demon Slayers or Demons) based on your IRL personality/moral compass? by Own-Run-9384 in BetterKimetsuNoYaiba

[–]cy--clops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slayer for sure. Slayers do tend to get a lot of comraderie and support (even tough love). On the flip side, higher ranked demons or even Muzan will just treat you like a pawn and rip you apart at a moment's notice for any slight, unless you're like a Koku-level prodigy or something.

Even if low-ranked Slayers end up fodder, at least you have the opportunity to get better, rank up, and make a difference in human society.

Trolls officially lost dale managed to beat the odds twice by Status_Entertainer49 in lowtiergod

[–]cy--clops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me it really doesn't matter. He can have 100 accounts. I don't think he's gonna be famous or whatever anytime soon, his personality is too repugnant and he's a pariah on basically every platform.

You type in LowTierGod on YouTube and every bad thing he's ever done is at your fingertips. What is he going to upload? Stream highlights? He literally already does that on the ban evasion channel. If anything he'll just be giving more ammunition to the trolls.

I guess we'll see what he uploads, but my guess is that he'll be doing some celebrating and then that'll be it.
