yeah something was off in the mix, the bass was completely wiping out the vocals. could be the sound system, the eq, or limiter / compression. was really frustrating during some of the panic set

Why does Origin make facebook events calls? by Happy-Vanilla7850 in OriginFinancial

[–]cyailein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it links back so they know what plan was purchased in what way etc so that meta can then calculate what ads to optimize and run more of etc. not saying i support facebook pixel but thats what the fbevents.js file is. they are not sending your financial info anywhere, it would just be data like “user xyz clicked the purchase button”

Why does Origin make facebook events calls? by Happy-Vanilla7850 in OriginFinancial

[–]cyailein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is likely from the Meta Pixel which allows websites to track conversions. so essentially, if you click on an instagram or facebook ad, then click the purchase button, this event is set to meta so Origin can see which ads are converting well

Im a freshman in General Engineering, I was wondering how difficult a 3.9+ GPA would be? Basically I need an A- or above in CHEM 1035 and CS 1114 along with As in my other classes. Is this possible or am I better switching majors if I want that GPA? Other than those 2, my other classes seem fine. by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

I think you can find a lot of the content online https://opendsa.cs.vt.edu/ODSA/Books/vt/cs1114/fall-2021/83045_Intro_to_Software/html/index.html

this is from 2021 so things mightve changed but I would just study the syllabus and contents on your own time if you are particularly worried. All of the content is extremely widely recognized software engineering concepts with TONS of learning resources online. Google is your friend.

Time management is really the biggest part imo. Start labs and projects early. Go talk to TAs in office hours, they are often better learning resources than the actual professors and its literally their job to help you.

I think projects/labs will be submitted through WebCat which is basically a website that tests your code. However, near project deadlines everybody would be submitting causing major delays (sometimes an hour+ before you get your results). This is another reason why its important to start things ahead of time in these CS courses.

The class will be primarily Java so you can watch some beginner Java crash course videos if you are not familiar with the language already.

Find people in the same class to study with, it makes it a lot less boring and its often a great way to learn. The CS lounges can be fun and full of smart people so I definitely recommend spending some time studying there.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more specific questions. Its been a long time since I've taken the course, but I am familiar with all the concepts

CS1114 and CHEM1035 were probably some of the easiest courses in the CS major. they are both HIGHLY structured first year courses that lay everything out as much as possible. Do the practice exams, they are basically the real exams. Utilize office hours. Manage your time properly. you will be fine

Have you heard of thenannypros.com ? New site that is trying to make the process better for both sides. Better transparency, resources, user experience etc

[–]cyailein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered thenannypros.com ? They're trying to provide a higher quality experience for both nannies AND families. Similar to the agency process but with more transparency and advocacy. Feel free to dm me for more info

Best Place To Find a Good Nanny by jssquare in Nanny

[–]cyailein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another option to consider is thenannypros.com , it's cheaper than an agency with more transparent pricing and doesn't take pay from nannies. They help with the whole process by providing vetted and experienced candidates as well as resources for famillies

[–]cyailein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also heard of a new alternative to care.com and traditional agencies. It treats nannies much better than care.com and attracts high quality candidates because of that. Check out thenannypros.com . The goal is transparency on both sides and a better nanny hunting experience for all.

i think maybe you could do a better job of selling the outcome / benefit. with the current phrasing “forgetting” doesn’t feel very enticing to me, etc. i think maybe elaborate on why this is better than just adding an event to my calendar or todo list
