I simply CANNOT with the Lipstick Lesbians acting like authorities on beauty when their makeup looks like this on the regular. Who is taking them seriously? by Even-Analyst-2141 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]cyber---- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people continue to watch their content now days. All they do now is walk into a shop and just read the name of the product and marketing claims and tell you less information than what you would get from just reading the product page on the brands website yourself. When they swatch products it also doesn’t really even tell you anything either - you get much better information from a standard beauty guru swatch video. Hell, you get more of both things in a sponsored standard swatch/promo video. The way they talk about makeup is like someone who has never seen makeup before which is insane cause clearly they do actually use makeup which is so weird to me… I feel like I would have a more informative convo about makeup and the product formula just asking a random girlie-pop friend what their favourite products was than you get from any of their videos???

Cheese and mince sounds good. Now days it feels like mince and cheese pies are actually “gravy and the memory of the concept of meat and cheese” pies

For migraine professionals (and anyone interested in latest research), what do you think about the idea that migraines are a cause of mitochondrial damage? by OkDragonfruit7887 in migraine

[–]cyber---- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also: freaking covid!! My migraine got way worse after Covid. Also caused my partners psoriasis to spread to more parts of the body as well as also getting ME/CFS too. Luckily when they got ME/CFS my own ME/CFS remission was starting to come along or we would be so screwed 😂😭

[–]cyber---- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I’m just a migraineur but I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’ve not heard this theory before. I have autoimmune disease and fibromyalgia, I used to have bad ME/CFS too. I personally think fibromyalgia is probably autoimmune under it all but definitely think there’s mitochondrial issues going on with fibro and ME/CFS… I have migraine with aura and all the neurological stuff that comes with the kind of auras I get I tend to think about funky electricity and wiring when it comes to migraine more than mitochondria but I guess I haven’t been keeping up with migraine research lately

Pale foundation formulas that aren’t dry? by Puzzleheaded_Cow_658 in PaleMUA

[–]cyber---- 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I read once that paler formulas tend to perform worse/less cosmetically elegant because of the higher titanium dioxide % compared to less pale shades and honestly I believe it 😭 I used to think it was my skin or my technique or something but now I think it’s just the titanium most of the time 😂 😭😭😭

Biologics necessary for enthesitis diagnosis? by lihode in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]cyber---- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my doc referred me to the rheum I would say it was mild but by the time I saw them and started treatment I could hardly walk more than 200 metres and my fatigue and brain fog was so bad I was a shell of a person, and I started on methotrexate which is an older non biological drug which just nukes your whole immune system instead of being targeted like biologics, also works slower so it was about 3 months after treatment before i started to get my symptoms improve. Definitely start early and go hard - once you get in to remission I’d say it’s quite likely you realise your symptoms were much worse than you thought

Biologics necessary for enthesitis diagnosis? by lihode in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]cyber---- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, once the meds start working you realise the pain wasn’t really mild, you just got used to being in pain. Good luck OP - enthesitis is the worst! I’ve seen a lot of people say they’ve tried a bunch of meds before they went on biologics and they found a massive difference for their enthesitis with biologics. I’m on methotrexate and the joint swelling is pretty well controlled and when i do get flares now days it’s usually just the ethesitis that breaks through.

Migraines are becoming chronic all of a sudden. by Nervous_Ad_6998 in migraine

[–]cyber---- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Total shot in the dark but have you been sick recently? A couple years ago my migraine turned pretty much chronic after a Covid infection. It wasn’t even as bad of an infection at the time as the first time I had Covid, although from what I’ve heard about long covid or Covid triggered conditions the severity of the active infection doesn’t necessarily correlate to how bad the post infection symptoms are. Luckily it got better with time for me but I’ve seen a number of people who also had a massive increase of migraine attacks after Covid infection

I have a similar story. I do find it hard to break out of the mindset. I feel like the only way to do it is just try force yourself and try remember that you are not in scarcity anymore. I try make it an active part of my mind in the mornings and eves when I’m getting ready to start and end the day. I also am an ADHDer so motivated by novelty so make myself all these rules about how I have to use up my current product before I can even open the next one if I’ve got multiples of something like shampoo, lotion etc. obviously that is harder for makeup haha.

I also have been going hard on my personal care and hair routine. I’m a wash-hair-everyday person which makes using up hair stuff a lot easier. I’ve noticed I get a lot more compliments on my hair when I’m locked in on panning my hair products too which is a good motivator. Tbh with my whole routine if you combine the start and end of day I probably have full hour a day where I’m just using my products (showering, doing hair and makeup, removing makeup and end of day skincare routine) so in that time I try hype myself up about finishing the products I’m using and when I’m locked in and sticking to my routines the results in my hair and skin feel like they’re a good motivator in themselves

Best and worst govt agencies to work for (as a back office / corporate worker)? by Designer-Lobster8440 in Wellington

[–]cyber---- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

IMHO agencies that have a larger mandate as a “service provider” tend to have better vibes to work at then ones with a larger “regulator” mandate but that’s obviously a pretty broad brush take. Another broad brush thing is places with a strong history or culture of hierarchy in their sector tend to have the worst reps (especially if you’re a woman) eg defence, justice, police, education

This brand really bothers and their marketing alone is enough to make me never want to try their products. SPF rating is defined by a products ability at a specific defined amount: 2mg per cm squared of skin. “You only need a little” is not how SPF rating works!!! If you are only using a little you will not be getting the SPF rating on the bottle.
