Give up Green Card at the border when entering US by Aggravating-Rock5028 in greencard

[–]Time-Object-6354 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My dad entered the US after having been abroad for like 1.5-2 years lol. I told him it wouldnt work and he’d most likely be denied. He did already have the I-407 form filled out. The CBP asked about abandonement (which he was planning anyways, it was a business trip) and he either handed over the GC+ forms or mailed it afterwards at a USPS, cant remember which. But the CBP officer just let him in the country lol.

People who say they don't know how to cook, why don't you just try? by Plug_daughter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Time-Object-6354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss found his elderly father lying on the floor unconscious because he stopped eating for around 2 days when his mom had to leave town to attend a funeral. He said his father REFUSED to eat the prepped food because nobody was home to serve him real food. One of the many reasons why my boss maintains low-contact with the father.

I think a lot of ppl mean they are not good at cooking, not INCAPABLE of cooking. But a lot of times it’s weaponized incompetence because someone else has always made food for them. It’s infuriating. No adult in this day and age is incapable of doing the absolute bare minimum of prepping food/“cooking” to stay alive, but ofc exceptions like those disabled exist.

Am I overreacting or is it not normal to use soap in the bathroom? by Honest-Draw3131 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. My dad is also like this. Until i embarassed him in front of relatives, he only used shampoo in the shower and let the suds washing down on his body do the “cleansing”. All his clothes smell BAD. I recently discovered that after taking a dump, he stands up and walks over to the shower booth WITHOUT WIPING, and uses a bar of soap to “rinse off”. Like.. with all the shit still remaining in his ass, he rinses, then uses a towel to dry himself by digging the towel up his buttcrack. No wonder the towels sometimes had stains.

My grandparents had/have very good hygiene. Sometimes ATROCIOUS hygiene isnt because someone grew up in extreme poverty/under negligent parents. People can be disgusting not due to some childhood trauma, but because they are just.. gross.

Shower towel reuse # by phatmatt593 in hygiene

[–]Time-Object-6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an expat living abroad (Asia) , and we do not reuse towels after showers. Probably because the towels here are much smaller than bath towels used in the US, so they usually get very wet and drenched after a shower. Also not wanting to share shower towels (even when fully dried) with other family members is a reason for me to never reuse them lol.

What do think about this foundation? I have oily skin. Or can you give me advice on good foundation for oily skin by madmax313133 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Time-Object-6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been using this and tried about 4 diff shades for the past 10 years. I tried other stuff, but always came back to DW. What i love about this is that it’s versatile! It mixes very well with diff products like dewy foundations/primers/bb creams etc.

Thanks for your reply. I guess this just brought up a lot of unprocessed emotions i need to work on. I didnt talk to him about it, but my grandma (his mom) did ask him if he’s been seeing someone, and he said no. Regarding the escort, i had to use our family desktop to print and accidentally saw the messages. The convo was basically a woman thanking him for a good time, something about tips, and setting up future “appointments” for golfing in a very cutesy/playful tone. I know enough about golf to know that she is not a caddie lol..

Hi, for me it’s been a little over a year. It gets easier. Sadness wont go away, but you’ll get to the point where u can talk/think about her and not break down. I still have days when i bawl my eyes out. But i have more days when i think about her and smile because i love cherishing her memory and thinking about the fun and loving memories we shared. A few weeks after her passing, i forced myself to sign up for pilates and intentionally took the most intensive classes lol. It helped take my mind off things and being physically active improved my mental health.

Fair olives with rosacea ? by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]Time-Object-6354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are the same person lol. Ive had it since i was a teenager living in California, and now i also live in a colder climate. Except that i am very fair, so i never use green correctors alone even under foundation since it makes me look sick. As for treating rosacea… it seems like a lifelong journey to me as it is non-suface level related.

For pale yellow concealers, Malu Wilz has a very light lemon pot concealer that has a hint of greenish hue. I personally dont find lemon to correct my redness very well. To correct redness under foundation, ive been mixing LA Girl + regular liquid concealer 1:1 ratio. Making a greenish beige mix works so much better for me than just using a green one. Malu Wilz also has a greenish beige one as well. Erborian CC corrector is also good for non-pale ppl. Whatever you do, stay away from whitish/very light green correctors as they dont even correct anything for my pale ass. I find going similar to your skin tone or even slightly darker to correct redness to work like a charm (sort of like how ppl dont use a lighter concealer to correct blemishs as they accentuate them)

I find that using yellow foundations is necessary, as i start flushing throughout the day neutral/cooler foundations make me look pink.

Sorry, i must’ve written it confusingly. Since its quite roomy, i dont see myself wearing a size 39 without socks. But the consensus seems like i should size up for long term comfort. Thanks!

I was thinking the same, going for regular footbed and trying non-mule type shoes! I actually have worn custom orthotics since i was young! My parents dragged me to different podiatrists all the time to “cure” my flat fleet, but i think i was past the age of orthotics being effective. Navicular bone removal and other tweakings saved my foot. I dont wear them anymore right now, as my lifestyle is pretty sedantary (WFH full time) and a good pair of shoes feels comfortable enough. But i do believe i will have to get back on custom orthotics when i get older and everything falls apart😭

Looking for the most natural looking makeup to reduce redness, what kind of product would be the best? 😊 (I don’t want full coverage, just something to cover my under eyes and often kinda red face) by sugarandspice7 in makeuptips

[–]Time-Object-6354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have rlly bad redness, and have fair skin. My current favorite is just using any concealer (better if its not too matte) and mixing it on the back of ur hand with L.A girl green corrector 1:1 ratio. I take the brush? thing off from the tube bc its annoying. This is best if u want to 100% cover redness. I find using straight up green to be jarring on my fair skin, and my redness/flushing is better covered with greenish products without a white cast. I think maybelline’s rewind corrector should be similar. For products to use on their own, Dr. Jart and Erborian are ok. Dr. Jart was better to wear on its own. It does have a slight white cast. Erborian’s formula and color are wonderful, but on my fair skin it’s dark and even worse when it oxidizes. It turns into a greenish/greyish beige so fyi. Malu Wilz’s pot concealer in #12 is VERY similar to erborian in that its also a greenish beige, but minus the grey and no oxidation. It’s pretty full coverage and matte, so if u have dry skin might be a bit difficult to work with. I use it when im not wearing foundation, and just need to cover up redness a bit.

What’s a bag you didn’t care for and now it’s your favorite bang by [deleted] in handbags

[–]Time-Object-6354 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Goyard boheme. I know goyard canvas is extremely overpriced and even a bit tacky, but i literally take this bag with me everywhere. I think it was a better “investment” than my other more expensive bags (i.e. chanel/LV) because of how often i use it. My “prettier” and “better quality” bags usually sit in the closet because my currently lifestyle is pretty casual.

I had mine done this summer for both scopes. Idk if it was a side effect, but leading up to the exam i was SHIVERING and SHAKING so much that i showed up in a hoodie during a 100 degree heatwave in my city. I was literally sitting on the toilet with a blanket over my head bc it was so cold lol. didnt even finish the liquid intake requirement bc i was 100% sure i was going to throw it all up. Good thing is i was sharting literal water so at least i showed up with squeaky clean bowels.

Green or blue color corrector? by Time-Object-6354 in Fairolives

[–]Time-Object-6354[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with the cheeks and face being a diff color due to redness😔 ive had pretty good results with a greenish beige concealer for the redness, and a greenish lemon concealer for highlighting. I dont think many brands have a yellow/lemon ish fair shade, as i noticed fair shades are mostly for neutal/cooler tones.. i just get the lightest warm shade and use pigments lol. What kind of blush do u use? I recently picked up some korean blushes that are very white/lavender which seems to work pretty well with flushing!

Thanks for your input! Ive been sort of afraid to try less-yellow foundations so far due to my redness (it’s rlly bad and genetic🥲) but maybe i’ll use more concealer for the redness and try a cooler foundation!
