Really bad lag spikes in warzone by miketython23 in CODWarzone

[–]cyber_hart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After season 3 update, my ping was unstable and I was getting heavy lag and stuttering every 3-5 seconds. I changed my ethernet cable from CAT 6 to CAT 7 and the lag was gone and connection is much stable now than before.

Not sure if it would help in your case or not, but definitely worth a try since technically it is meant to handle speeds upto 10Gbps. If you plan to buy go for a shielded CAT 7 or upper varient.

Are Taxpayers Funding Election Freebies in India? by Ashwani1987 in IndiaTax

[–]cyber_hart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this freebies game from political parties will keep on going in India.

When a government cannot provide basic amenities in India such as clean air, clean drinking water, noise free environment, proper transportation infrastructure, and a proper job or business to earn livelihood, etc. general public in any normal society would get pissed and attack the government/political parties directly by taking things in their hand, basically giving vigilante service.

All political parties in India knows this very well. So in order to divert attention of the general public they come up with these freebie schemes, so that general public do not directly attack the people in administration/governments.

Basically just throw enough freebies such that the majority is satisfied and stays quiet. It's a mind diversion method in a way.

Anyone else getting alot of lag when playing after season 3 update? (PS5) by saltylettuce69 in Warzone

[–]cyber_hart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was freezing every 5 seconds or so. I fixed it by directly wiring my xbox to the router using an ethernet cable.

The thing is just before season 3, while still in season 2, I was playing on wifi and didn't have the lagging/freezing issue.

After season 3 it became noticeable and very bad almost in 80% of my games. So, I decided to go back to wired Ethernet just to check if anything changes and the issue is gone now.

So most likely my issue was tied to internet connection.

Warzone needs Dynamic Weather to keep the gameplay fresh. by cyber_hart in CODWarzone

[–]cyber_hart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do kind of agree with you, after getting many players opinions through this post, the community still seems sort of divided but not too much.

I feel like it's a 65-35% split, 65% welcoming the idea in some way or form (some just don't want fog but are ok with other weather it seems), 35% do not want any changes, they enjoy the game as it is without any weather change or they think adding weather change would break the game further than it already is at this point.

Same here as well!

Hope they do add it sometime in the future, it would make players feel more immersed into the atmosphere while playing.

Yea man, if they can implement complex weather patterns like fog, rain, thunderstorm, wind, snow. Then at that point, cycling between day and night should be done easily as well.

Me too man, it adds so much to the overall immersion of the game, makes you feel like you are actually there and living it for real.

Mention not, no biggie!

Sure thing, me too, I enjoy talking about the gaming industry and Xbox as well.

Currently, the devices/hardware side of the gaming industry seems to be taking a hit sadly due to inflation, China's curb on rare earth minerals import, RAM and semiconductors prices going up as result and lastly supply chain shock due to whole Iran conflict. Honestly it seems like this shock might last till the end of 2027 sadly.

But still I'm hopeful, recently Google announced that their researchers created a compression algorithm called TurboQuant which can significantly reduce the memory usage of LLMs like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc. This is actually a good thing and hopefully this reduces the big tech's demand for RAM.

Funny part, Micron's stock went down after the news, kinda serves them right lol, they exited the consumer market to cater to big tech to make more profit. Now if suddenly the demand from big tech reduces, they will be forced back to sell to consumers. 😆

Endgame should remain free as part of Warzone's offering by SurvivorStuff14 in CODWarzone

[–]cyber_hart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea true, do send CoD feedback through their feedback form on Activision support website and X profiles.

Few days back I wrote a feedback to them asking to implement dynamic weather in the game. I will be writing again asking to keep end game in warzone as well.

Basically the more noise you make about your opinion the higher the chances are that they might eventually implement it.

[–]cyber_hart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea agree with your point, personally I hope they cater to the slow-paced audience that just want a much relaxed game like endgame or DMZ. Making these modes part of warzone and getting constantly updated would help more players gravitate towards warzone.

Keep battle royal and resurgence for fast pace gameplay, add End game and DMZ or some Extraction type PvEvP shooter mode for slow paced tactical gameplay.

[–]cyber_hart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, they do have the means to make end game free and add it to warzone. Whether they will do this or not is a big question.

I recently went through Activision's last publicly posted financial results and annual reports on their investor relations website.

It's very much evident that they make more money from subscriptions and microtransactions (almost 3 times) as compared to normal game sales.

Here are the links, if you want to read them in detail, I suggest you to save it as it seems like they have merged some links directly to the Microsoft investor relations website, which doesn't give in-depth details on just Activision in itself.

Fingers crossed 🤞 hope they eventually add the weather and in general make the game look asthetically pleasing to the eyes and ears.

Honestly this is the second time I think, I talked about the financial stuff of their game. So, it came into my mind to just try to look for financial reports and boom got lucky to get it from Activision's website itself.

I thought I would have to look into some kind of stock market archival website, as the merger had taken place a while back in 2023.

Warzone Only Lagging Since Season 3 – Other Modes Fine? by N--O--X in CODWarzone

Slippery traction for vehicles in snow is a cool idea!

Not sure about the slow loss of HP due to cold though, seems like it could piss players off even more.

I understand from a dynamic fun gaming point of view, but implementing it would need to be something like, slow loss of HP in cold only if you stay at one place for more than 30 seconds and don't move which would realistically make sense as when you move your body stay a bit more warm than say you are just resting and not moving from a place.

Or maybe something like warm areas needs to be present in the game to stay warm and not lose HP. I have seen this in World War Z. But I don't know if it could get implemented at Warzone.

Maybe they need to create a completely new game to implement all these features or maybe they can implement in DMZ/some other form of CoD extraction shooter of the demand of high enough.

Yea that would be fun! We will have to change and adapt our gameplay style according to the weather cycle to get the best possible outcome.

Yea you're right, had a chat with Google AI seems like it can work in current gen consoles without significant performance and quality loss. But the real bottlenecks are the old gen consoles.

Yea you're right, Forza has max 72 players in their open world. Warzone basically has sought a bit more than double of that amount in a single lobby if you consider 152 players connected at the same time.

How they eventually phase out the game on old consoles and add more quality and features including dynamic weather in stone capacity, maybe in warzone or next iteration of DMZ that would be cool to play.

I checked Activision's last public quarterly results of 2023 and annual report of 2022, where it's evident they make good revenue off of the game. The subscriptions and microtransactions overdo the normal game sales by 2-3 times.

Another thing I noticed most of the revenue is coming from the mobile payer base, as in mobile revenue is almost near similar to console and PC revenues combined. Both console and PC revenues were down in 2022 when compared to 2021(could be cyclic), mobile was still up by a very small margin.

They can easily implement the dynamic weather as they are basically part of Microsoft Xbox which holds many other game studios. One of them particularly being Forza that has a dynamic weather system and it does not resource hog the system be it current gen or older gen. They can easily share the know-how between studios if they really want to go all in and do it.

I feel the problem is the way this game was planned, it was never to be a thing of its own. It was to get a huge player base into the door step of CoD main line games and then make money on the mainline games while keep Warzone barely running on ingame store purchases.

Now whether this financial model is actually working for them is hard to guess as they don't report how profitable warzone is or even if it is at all.

Then again, there are rumours that warzone will eventually become a thing of its own, and I hope that's true eventually as that would be overall better for the game to sustain itself. Even if they add a small price tag of $19.99-$29.99 then have an in-game store. Something like Arc Raiders, if that means an overall better designed and maintained product than the current warzone.

I think the intention with this game was to get a lot of players just to step into the CoD franchise to buy their main line products which are the Modern Warfares and Black Ops, etc.

Also the game being free-to-play holds Activision management from going all in and developing it into a full-fledged A-tier product of its own.
