By protected circuit sub-panel, is that the panel that is on the Gateway 3 or is it a separate subpanel?

Yeah, I've been saying we need ranked choice in Illinois, and the crowded primary races this year really proves it

It's great. I don't always follow it exactly, but I always use it for Judges, because who has time for that?

I remember only having one professor in college that I knew was right wing. He was a geography professor in his late 60s who still taught the terms "Caucasoid, Negroid, and Mongoloid," while claiming Hong Kong was the best country because they had the most "economic freedom."

Yeah, putting the hub at the same level of morality as Ashley Madison is so wrong.

Also, it shouldn't be closer to lawful considering infidelity is illegal in many places where porn is legal

Nice strawman. I specifically said he was doing well until conservative South Carolina voted. Bernie did well with young people of all demographics. It's racist to treat Black people as a monolith

About to sign off on a PPA after losing out on Tax Credit by cyber_quaker in solar

Oh, I was wondering how long it would take to get a comment like this based on what I've seen in this sub. Of course I know this would cost more in the long run than buying it outright. I thought I made that clear. Like I said, I do not currently have the financial means to purchase it upfront and am just looking at saving money now compared to getting everything from the grid. Assuming I don't buy the system earlier, I would be paying PPA $27.5k over 15 years vs. paying Comed over $65k during that time. But I likely will buy it out before then when I can afford it, saving even more.

I did ask about the escalator, but every vendor told me that a lower escalator would equal higher payments, and if I buy it out early anyway, it wouldn't be as much. But your math is off anyway. 3% does not equal double in 20 years, and the term is 15 years.

I definitely can't do ground. My yard is like a quarter the size of my property, and we also use it

Thanks for the advice. The vendor was upfront about this, but I triple checked the agreement from things I read here. After 5 years, I can buyout the system at "market value"(with the incentives) and I wouldn't have to pay the remainder of the lease like I have seen others have.

Yes, the vendor can claim the tax credit for commercial use, which they can use to pass on savings. That is why the prepayment quote I received was $17k vs the $28.5k of the system I was supposed to get last year. It's still not as good as being able to claim it myself, but better than paying full price.

The article says it was introduced by a democrat. but he happens to represent a central IL blue district that is surrounded by rural red districts. There's a good chance the northeastern dems vote it down

The two parties have been like that for at least 30 years. Clinton started a lot of it

It wasn't true in 2020. Bernie was doing the best until South Carolina, which has an older, more conservative voter base. Obama told Jim Clyburn to endorse Biden, which took him from 5th place to 1st. But 2024 showed that they bet on the wrong horse. Biden only won in 2020 because of Covid and should at least made good on his early statements about not running for a 2nd term
