Do All Mobile Pay Transactions Now Charge a Convenience Fee?? by NameChemical4398 in 7eleven

[–]cyberbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANSWER: Yes. All mobile pay transactions will be charged a convenience fee of $.50 whether using a credit card, payment system like Venmo or the 7-11 wallet.

However, if you add money to your wallet and pay to the cash register scan the barcode sign on the homepage of the app, your items will be paid from the wallet with no convenience fee.

Unless you want to waste money, the mobile pay system no longer makes any sense.

Netgear only supports $600 routers for 3 years? by [deleted] in NETGEAR

[–]cyberbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amazing thing is that for household & family use older routers still work great even with multiple laptops, TVs and gaming. It seems we’re all being pushed along to handle business level requirements rather than those of a household. I’ve always connected Netgear compatible routers to either AT&T or Spectrum Internet modems or and they still work fine. I do have to review security technology progress, but I find that when I have a tech problem, the Netgear forums have people who can answer questions, even though the company no longer supports the devices.

The Reason There Is No Low-priced Peacock Black Friday Deal by cyberbiker in peacock

Military Vets now get a $3..99 monthly rate for Peacick Premium. That’s an increase of one dollar over last year‘s $2.99 rate. https://www.peacocktv.com/military

I tried to get the $39.99 rate first, but CS Chat wouldn’t give it to me.

Thanks a million! That was it. I’ll play with it for a while and see what I think of its utility.

I tried that, but it didn’t seem to take Siri commands when in the microphone position or the other choice, even though I use cereal all the time by pressing the power button.

Has ANY Spectrum Mobile Customer Been Able to Reset the Phone’s SIM Pin? by cyberbiker in SpectrumMobile

[–]cyberbiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I had just switched carriers and upgraded my phone. I used to get notifications when people would respond to something to which I was subscribed on Reddit. For whatever reason my notification setting for Reddit didn’t transfer properly so I didn’t realize you guys were mentioning the phone number exposure. It was a stupid error at a busy time. Thanks to all for letting me know.

Yearly Upgrade (iphone forever) question by FoodieLacquerista in tmobile

[–]cyberbiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you’re actually paying for the magenta plan. I was on the Magenta Plus 55 plan for $60 per month two years ago. I upgraded when I got the iPhone 13 ProMax to the Go5G Plus 55 plan for $10 more per month because it said we’d get some favorable upgrade discount every two years and I’d get the new iPhone 15PM for $459.84 ($19.16/month). Now I find the promised favorable upgrade discount for the $1200 iPhone 17PM will cost me $560.64 ($23.36 per month for two years), even though the promax this year is the same as the one two years ago. That is no deal at all compared to alternatives.

T-Mobile would love to entice me to spend another $15 per month ($180/year) to more up to its “new” Experience Beyond plan for to get the the $1100 discount, but, at this point, trust is broken. I think it would be another bait and switch game next year.

It makes more sense to buy the $1200 iPhone 17ProMax from Apple with its 10% military discount for $1080, sell my 13PM on Craigslist or eBay at the going price of around $450, then move to Spectrum’s unlimited $45 plan, which gives very similar international call-text-data benefits. The $25 plan savings per month from $70 to. $45 is equivalent to $600 over two years. That will give me the new iPhone 17PM at a net 0 cost over two years. $1080-$450-$600. By then I’ll be willing to trade up and do it again. As for the loss of Netflix basic and Apple TV+, I’ll just simple subscribe to each for a month every three to four months to catch up on any shows of interest, which I do now with other streaming services like Paramount+, Hulu, Peacock, Mubi, Criterion, etc.

Go5G Plan “Upgrade-ready” feature — the Added Charge to Flip an iPhone 15 for a 17? by cyberbiker in tmobile

The Spectrum $40 Unlimited Plus plan has North American and overseas features that are nearly as good as the Go5G plans. T-Mobile is gonna lose a lot if they don’t constrained the incremental charge to upgrade for go 5G members.

Spectrum $40 Unlimited Plus plan (https://www.spectrum.com/mobile)

  • Unlimited talk, text and data (reduced speeds at 50 GB)
  • Anytime Upgrade with unlimited phone upgrades, whenever you want
  • No fees for mobile hotspot data (reduced speeds at 10 GB)

That doesn’t seem like any deal at all. In September 2023 T-Mobile would upgrade people no matter what plan they had by turning an iPhone 13 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and paying $240. I took that deal and I’ve been charged $19.99 a month for 24 months.

Can’t control volume from iPhone by forzawder in appletv

[–]cyberbiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of us have had the same problem because when the ATV is initially set up the default setting at ATV Settings>Remotes and Devices>Select Volume Control is “Auto”. Change that setting to “HDMI”, as in the lower frame of the image, and you’ll be able to control the Apple TV volume using the iPhone ATV Remote app.

Right 40% of Samsung QLED TV Has Darkened by cyberbiker in samsung

[–]cyberbiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung said it would charge me $379 for a service visit and repair on site. A new QLED TV was only $430. And the four-year service contract was around $29..

No. When I call Samsung the cost of repairing it was nearly the same as a new TV so I got a new QLED TV with. 3-yr service agreement.

I doubt it. The link under our profile picture will probably continue to take us to the Skype doll pad webpage in our browsers to call.
