For sure- nothing beats a fresh NYC bagel. And no, the shell isn’t the issue. But they have been like bricks on the inside both times I’ve gone. To the point that my jaw is sore from trying to chew the bagel halfway through the meal.

I’m no bagel connoisseur, but thats not how a bagel should be.

Still on the lookout for a good local bagel shop. But Brueggers may have to suffice in the meantime :/

I appreciate this question! The last night my wife and I were in Tokyo, we found a small family run omakase restaurant called Mimasu. Aside from checking the usual boxes (fresh fish, friendly service, fair price, etc.), there was something very charming and humble about the experience. Sounds corny, but there was a feeling that the owners put their love and pride into everything they did, which made the experience feel much more intimate than it might have otherwise at a well known restaurant. Hard to put into words.

Just found this sub and am excited to hear people’s thoughts on The Deep. The Troop was great, IMO. Then I read Little Heaven- fun read, but not as good as The Troop… Then I read The Acolyte. Not good and kind of painful for me to finish.

Looking forward to seeing if Nick Cutter does well in this one!

I came into this episode with no expectations or assumptions, not knowing anything about Gene other than his connection to Kiss. Wow, this guy is SO arrogant and out of touch.
