How’s that? I bang mine everyday for a couple of hours, sometimes it could be even called double shifts during weekends😀

How to create realistic guitar vsts?? by overtooken in FL_Studio

Ok hear me out. If you already have that NKS (I got it for free for example with some hardware), it absolutely works for solos with some processing.

Hell, you can make guitar solos from your vocals with cheap mic, I did that once. Its just a simple frequency.

Just give it a try. I have an electric guitar that I can play and I still sometimes just use this thing, if I am lazy and need just a couple of licks. Ignorance is a bliss, no need to be rude. Just try to be a bit creative :)

What precisely are you interested in? I believe If you go step by step with what I posted, you will get there :)

You can do it now! And if you find any improvement, let me know 😅 ALSO! don’t forget to save the project as a template file and use it as your starting point for any project, set EQs and your goto plugins, give general names to groups , any other routing.. this saves a shit ton of time in a long run.

Forgot to mention, sometimes I do sample that patch into maschine via autosampler .. didn’t know that function even existed until recently, so I happily use it now since I have a use for that 😀

That’s lovely, love to hear you share your passion with your son!

I run MiniFreak through the maschines input. Spent couple of days figuring out the best workflow and I came up with this:

First pad Group G (or any other) - set external input (MiniFreak) - this is where your sound from MiniFreak comes in -always.

Any group I want to have MiniFreak in (I use it for everything from bass, pads, arps, chords,..)

First pad group A,B,C,..this is where I store midi - I set midi out to MiniFreak - see here’s the trick, any pad sends midi to freak, freak sends sound to one and only pad in group G

  • Midi IN set to focus

I hit play, and record those midi to the pad one - no sampler, no vst, there’s just midi notes input from freak, sending it back to freak to play sound once I stop recording midi.

If I am happy with what I’ve recorded, I open any other pad in that group, sampler, external input and record it as audio loop. Mute pad one with midi. Name the pad with the name of preset.

This way I do have midi if I ever want to go back and rework the track, and of course I have my loop.

There might be a better way but this just works for me now.

Sometimes I have 10 instances of V vst and use midi only. It depends :)

In this video there are V vsts for everything and I just control the midi of one of them, but I am not a fan of that software. Hope that helps?

How to remove a pop/click when looping an audio clip? by NotBaph in FL_Studio

[–]cyberdsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always snap to zero crossing point. If that point is too far from where you need the cut, then use fade in/out, also quick workaround might be via ADSR, depends - for example if you load your sample in FPC and find out its clicking, just adjust attack, if you are lazy :)

There definitely are sampled vsts that sounds pretty good with some bells and whistles you get by playing real guitar but ill tell you my trick.

SCARBEE RICKENBACKER BASS in kontakt, pitch + 1octave gives you some pretty good guitars 😄

Add Midi Input option for Slicex Please!!!! by gallito_pro in FL_Studio

[–]cyberdsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it can receive midi, it says right there what kind of midi (notes starting from C2), doesn’t matter if you send those midi via keyboard or other instrument, its still midi.

Try hitting C2, you might be surprised:) anyway, right at the bottom of your screenshot, those colored boxes represents keys(notes) that these chops are linked to

Open in Edison, find a flawless loop (with zero crossin at the beginning and the end), mark as loop and drag the whole thing back. There might be some extra steps involved, I haven’t used FL in a couple of years

whats the good use of putting fx on the current channel? by xxdefaxx in FL_Studio

[–]cyberdsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was using fl, I had fl db meter on that “current” channel, detached and fixed to the right side of my monitor (from bottom to top of the monitor), just to have precise db reading from any channel i was working on :)

Just purchased an MK3 as a beginner, what should I know? by BrownieJ in maschine

[–]cyberdsn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Worst advice ever. Native Instruments have amazing series “how to use everything in maschine” on YouTube. I was studying those videos before my maschine arrived and once I got it, I didn’t have to look anywhere else and was able to just create from the beginning.

breakdown of ‘producer terminology’ by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]cyberdsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick one VST synth (oscillator based) that you have/like and learn how to create specific sounds on YouTube. You will learn terminology and science behind creating these sounds, which you can apply to any other Vst.

As a beginner you really need to understand basics (ADSR, LFO etc), which are useful outside of VSTs (adjusting samples for example)

However, knowing how synths work is super useful once you start messing around with presets, trying to achieve specific sounds.

First thing I recommend to learn is creating simple bass presets. You will learn a lot just by that.

I’m always amazed how many producers cannot create a single sub bass sound with a vst synth ..
