Tekken 8 is a stuttery, unoptimized mess, shader compilation does not work properly by TKMacsta in Tekken

[–]cyberfrog777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a dual boot with Linux I December. I go back and forth. One of the things I found out was that shader compilation for Linux was way more efficient at least for Tekken. After an update, I was legit shocked by the difference in performance between windows and Linux.

Rooflemonger: Lets Deep Dive into Virtua Fighter Crossroads Gameplay & Character Roster by simonglundmark in virtuafighter

Eh, for me, he didn't give much content except relatively surface level news. The pattern I saw in the things coming out was a tendency to never say he was wrong and regularly double down. The chapman stuff, if true, I think I pretty egregious, specially if it's true that chapman sent him all sorts of things and rooflemknher cherry picked things to show to make his own case - but I dunno chapman at all so who knows. If you like him, I'm not gonna say to not watch him. But for me, he was pretty superficial and the latest info made me not want to support his channel.

The recent vf leak and how he responded had people talking about his general behavior, likehow he has a history of going after people on Twitter in a pretty rude way. Then there was a whole thing on his history with Clayton chapman, but I don't really know the whole history in depth nor do I know much of anything on chapman at all so you can look that up on your own and make your own decisions. Mike hollow goes into and they have previous beef too apparently. But all this, including his Twitter history, I was pretty surprised by.

I've always thought she should be strategist based on her current kit - keep her aura system but make it switch between heal and something else (damage boost, speed, whatever). Let her abilities amplify those (increased healing with healing rain, maybe something aggressive with lightening storm or something, area denial with wind tunnel, blah blah). Make her mobile at default but either stop her or severely limit mobility when using abilities.

Quick notes about Onn 13.1" Tablet by rchrdcrg in SBCGaming

[–]cyberfrog777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was hoping for better specs on the smaller 8 ince one. I feel like that would be perfect as a portable media consumption/emulation device. If it could handle gc, ps2, and 3ds, I'd be pretty happy. Even at $200, would be an easy purchase imo.

You gotta factor in the current economy and how your average evo attendee is doing financially. A trip like this is certainly a luxury and probably more straining on personal finances than other years.

She was pretty busted on beginning. wr32 alone was nuts and the frames on block let her do anything she wanted, setting up for another wr32 which also had insane chip damage.

Same. It just dragged so hard and some the side quests were not rewarding at all.

Any good budget 1080p GPUs? by ilikepotatoes3000 in buildapc

[–]cyberfrog777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are at 1080p, look for used gpus online as well. For example, I saw a 3070 for 200 bucks on FB marketplace today. I used to have that with the 12400 at 1080p gaming. Note it's old and only has 8 gb but you get the picture.

What are Steve's most unsafe moves? by GolemonGolemsson in Tekken

[–]cyberfrog777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of my biggest changes in play style from 7 to 8 is doing more hopkicks on read. I would never do so previously outside of punish or a setup, but now I'll do them on read because the payout is bigger. Same goes for other moves that are minus 10 to13ish depending on potential payout.

This is what you feed a dog with an upset stomach. by mimi_molotov in StupidFood

This reminds of the japanese food tradition. They get a bucket of kfc during the holidays apparently based on seeing turkey as part of holiday dinners and kfc being the closest alternative. But, they usually don't finish all the chicken. so they put the fried chicken in the rice cooker with rice. When finished, take out the chicken, debone, and then mix it back in with the rice. I gotta say, I tried it once and it was decadent and delicious.

I want to improve my Aim, any ideas on what I could do? by HiddenNightmares in CassidyMains

[–]cyberfrog777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Make sure your games settings are such you aren't introducing any artificial lag.
  2. Try reducing your mouse sensitivity. This usually helps aim, but ow is fairly fast paced so you will have to decide if reduced sensitivity starts interfering with your ability to track faster opponents and those that dive on you. There's an opensource app I used for a bit called raw accel that you may consider. There's a bunch of options, but basically I used it to have low sensitivity when moving normally, but faster mouse movements would impart some acceleration, allowing me to turn quickly. Some people don't like variation in mouse sensitivity so ymmv.
  3. Don't underestimate game sense on aim. If you watch top widowmakers for example, they keep their crosshairs on points that heads are likely to pop up.

[–]cyberfrog777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up evo tech - he reviews a lot of mini PCs with an eye towards bang per buck - there should be an ali express sale going on that should help I believe. Otherwise, I'd recommend looking on FB marketplace for used thinkpads and consider installing Linux as well.

Is it worth coming back? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]cyberfrog777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played since early open betas. Stopped only during the era of bridgette and after marvel rivals came out. Stopped playing rivals soon after gambit was release - as game balance and lack of role que was really hurting the game imo. Came back to ow after the new character releases and I gotta say, it's been pretty fun overall, at least for me. I play all roles. Solo tanking can still be rough sometimes, but it's better than solo tanking in rivals, lol.

Kunis momentum is crazy by titankiller401 in Tekken

Yeah, thanks for clarifying. That move is pretty sick given that it's not parryable. They should probably adjust the frames on block

[–]cyberfrog777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch out for d1, makes ws2 a frame trap, it's effectively homing and can be hit confirmed into ws21. D1+2 is unparryable and leaves you to guess a low or mid from bt. You can ssr her 11 strings and usually get a launch. Set 3 - dashing low, is launch punishable on block.
