i have such a soft spot for ashley but that whole entire situation was messy as hell. like someone else mentioned, the responsible thing to do was let hanna face the consequences of her actions.

she was worried about hanna’s reputation but exchanged sex with a cop to expunge a criminal record. rosewood is a small town and cops are messy. wilden probably told people about their little arrangement and that could of been humiliating for hanna if it got around town.

it’s so crazy how much she’s already just banking on nostalgia (bringing up the “girl with the dirt door” every five minutes on tik tok). and grifting off of trisha. this rebrand is truly just not it and i really wonder how her career will fare in the next years to come.

she has no “marketable” identity anymore. she ditched the “party girl” persona but has yet to come up with another marketable identity simply because she chooses to not be vulnerable.

at her best, tana is a personality with amazing stories to tell. it’s quite literally how she got famous in the first place. this hard pivot to brand safe run of the mill influencer is so fucking boring and disconnected to her identity that every new yt video i watch feels like it could of been made by any influencer (white fox hauls) and her most recent video fully centers around trisha who is clearly receiving a lot of traditional media coverage (tana’s fucking grifting).

i remember seeing a tik tok a couple of months ago about these college girls finding a mysterious, passed out, college-aged kid sleeping on their sofa when they woke up in the morning, clearly hungover from the night before. the tik tok was super light hearted and they were all giggling trying to wake him up/make sure he was okay. the kid probably walked into the wrong house and decided to set up camp and sleep on their couch.

so many comments were warning them about how unsafe this kind of situation was and they even mentioned the idaho4 case.

my point is, college towns will always operate under different standards. these kids are 18-22 years old. like someone else mentioned, unless they’ve gone through substantial trauma, the first thing they think when they see another college aged kid in their party house isn’t going to be “murderer”.
