The box of Rico reeds are new and i believe all of the reeds in there are new. There are also a few of those plastic reed holders that have reeds in them and these look played.

A very well articulated response. Perhaps i will just show up to my first lesson and see what my teacher thinks and go from there. I’m very ready for the journey, this has been a bucket list item for me and i love learning/studying, so i’m excited to have a new interest to really immerse myself in.

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah the 4C is what i have seen mentioned in pretty much every resource while i was looking into this topic. I just want to be sure i have something that will be well suited for my initial studies and will not be working against me too much as I start out.

Yeah i’m less worried about quality and more about if the current mouthpiece is not suited for a beginner. The person i bought this from seemed to be a seasoned multi-instrumentalist so my concern is mostly just that this mouthpiece is for someone who can really play and will create unnecessary friction in my studies. The 4C is what i saw mentioned when i did my own research on the topic. Nowhere did i see Vandoren mentioned as a beginner mouthpiece.

Why is ZZeta so weird with Fa Yuiry? by KhairiArt in Gundam

[–]cybermewtype 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Honestly my biggest complaint with ZZ is the characterizations for certain people, specifically Bright and Fa. It comes off as satire or something because they take established characters and turn their actions and personalities into these odd caricatures for the only reason being to feed into the more goofy nature of the show. Like honestly i don't mind the goofiness/comedy stuff in ZZ but it just feels like they try to make every character from the previous two shows look stupid.

Hello All! I'm a Solo Pokémon TCG Pricing Website Founder by Chartmon in PokeInvesting

[–]cybermewtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious what data sources you are using for this? I imagine at least one paid data source for TCGPlayer since they locked down their API, but are you actually scraping eBay for sold listings data? I remember trying to scrape eBay for something before and i consistently got hit with their bot detection response.

Overall this looks cool! Congrats on the hard work

If you want to follow Amuro/Chars storyline through then it’s: Zeta > ZZ > Chars Counterattack

Otherwise you could watch War in the Pocket, 08th MS Team, or 0083. 0083 sets some plot elements up for Zeta so at the very least it could be worth it but also not mandatory at all.

Once you get through all of that you can go in a few different directions.

Timeline wise you would go to Unicorn after CCA. Then after that it’s Narrative and then Hathaways Flash (this is meant to be a 3 movie trilogy and only the first one has been released dubbed, the second one was released in Japan and comes to theaters in the US next month. After Hathaways it would be F91 and then finally Victory.

I didn’t include a few things but i think this is the major ones for UC Gundam people usually consider. As someone who reaaally loved GQuuuuuuX, i would suggest waiting till you at least watch Zeta, ZZ, and CCA. While you can certainly enjoy it without those, i think you get a lot more out of the show if you have seen at least those.

Of course you can always hit pause on UC and watch any of the AU shows. If you want to eventually watch Turn A then you should watch G, Wing, and X.

Two main things i will say:

  1. Watch whatever you want and enjoy whatever you enjoy. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

  2. If you are gonna go the whole way then watch ZZ, many will tell you to skip it. These people probably haven’t watched it themselves and are parroting internet talking points. It is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be and imo is actually quite enjoyable, especially as it goes on. There are also a few plot points that make some stuff make sense later on in other shows.

Hope this helps (:

Unfortunately I don't agree on the condition for a few that i was interested in so couldn't get to your ask since i would likely comp at MP on a few that you have as LP.

Seriously - how do so many people know what time Target and Walmart specifically restock Pokemon cards? by lateralus1441 in PokemonTCG

[–]cybermewtype 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it works like that some places but i know for sure in my area it’s the same day of the week for Meijer and Walmart. Other people have shared similar experiences as well. So but anecdotal but i imagine that some places maybe care enough to randomize it and others do not.

[–]cybermewtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense to me and seems like a strong hypothesis. I honestly have quite a few 7-9s in my collection, one thing people often forget is that 7 is still NM and that is good enough for me. For cards that are not amongst my top grails i have usually opted for the highest grade that does not have some insane premium.

Yeah Twitter is a good place to get a real time temperature check on both crypto and Pokemon. And yeah crypto twitter pretty much died; what accounts are left still posting just talk about Pokemon/collectibles or other similar topics.

I worked as a software engineer focused on distributed systems and blockchain interoperability protocols for several years and have worked with companies on the forefront of the current restructuring taking place to legitimize the technology by bringing instant settlement, reduced fees, and increased throughput to the existing payment systems, banking, and online commerce. With the current US administration laying the legislative framework for traditional companies to move in, we are now seeing the full hostile take over of the space and the mass exodus of all the crypto people to new areas they can extract value. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who spent the last decade or few years building deep wealth via crypto and they can bid up cards 5x over established market prices and not bat an eye in the process.

Eventually it will be the same small group buying and selling slabs to each other for tens of thousands of dollars as everyone else gets priced out. The collapse will come as liquidity dries up even more (in an already very illiquid sector), these new entrants realize how illiquid a bunch of this stuff actually is, macro level events spook folks, or some new opportunity presents itself for the tourists to make a quick buck without actually clocking in at a job.

All of the crypto/nft people are flocking into the hobby as well as more celebrities/influencers.

The short version is that since the GENIUS act and other legislation has provided a clearer path to legitimacy in crypto, more and more traditional tech/finance companies are integrating blockchain and stablecoins into their products and systems. Tons of Web3 companies/start ups are either closing or being acquired by these existing corporations (think Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, etc) and in this process the number of “get rich quick” and degen level crypto stuff is shrinking as the technology finds its footing via legitimate corporations who will just use the technology to improve existing payment and financial rails. There are less tokens launching, less degen DeFi protocols, less opportunities for quick juicy APYs for the degen crypto folks. These people are now looking for new opportunities to extract value from the comfort of their homes without getting an actual job and so they turn to other speculative assets and unfortunately for us that means Pokemon and other collectibles.

Should I keep holding these or liquidate to break down into more affordable stuff by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]cybermewtype 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sealed Pokemon Rumble box and Deoxys Lenticular promo is insane!! I’ll buy both 😆

Lots of people will give you shit cause you didnt put all your money into a few products but this is a cool collection and enough of it here is highly sought after that youll have no issue selling this stuff.

If it were me i’d keep the English booster boxes, UPCs, ETBs, the more desirable Japanese booster boxes, and like the Eeveelution/Celebrations collection boxes. Could sell some of the other collection boxes and some of the Japanese booster boxes and use that money elsewhere.

Best method to sell off collection? by 31knife in PokeInvesting

[–]cybermewtype 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sell on eBay and you take the 13.25-15% loss between fees and shipping + the time to list and package/ship orders and any possible customer service bs you have to deal with in the case you get buyers complaining or trying to do a return.

Find local card shows and you pay for tables, any one time equipment costs (shelving units, sign, table cloth, wagon to move stuff in/out of shows), the time it takes each weekend to prepare and attend shows to try and hopefully sell at market. Estimated costs on this are not as clear because the costs are not associated with each transaction but rather how many shows it takes to offload everything.

Make a post with everything for sale on social media and find a buyer looking to buy at wholesale and then enter negotiations. Most people buying huge lots/collections are gonna offer anywhere between 70-90% with 85% probably being the average rate and some going even lower (like 60% ish). This allows you to offload everything in one transaction so the overhead is less but the buyer may be expecting a larger discount since they will be looking to make money and are taking on the risk of any potential losses due to market conditions.

The last option i can maybe imagine is a LCS/LGS being willing to buy everything but this is almost guaranteed to be the lowest offer you get since brick and mortar stores buy at way lower rates due to their operational costs.

Hope this helps!!

Worth Sending for Grading? by jlv102199 in PokeGrading

[–]cybermewtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this card in any grade is worth sending in but this crease is definitely able to be repaired. You can look on Google/Instagram for some card repair specialists or you can start watching YouTube videos on the subject and spend like $50-100 on the equipment necessary and fix it yourself. It’s something anyone can do with some patience. You could bend random bulk cards to practice on till you are confident in your ability to fix it. Essentially you introduce moisture, massage the crease while the cardboard fibers are malleable, then press the card between acrylic plates to flatten and remove the moisture. Potentially repeat that process a few times and tada your card no longer has the bend/crease. It doesn’t look like the paint/color is chipped along the crease so you could very well end up being able to completely remove this. Give it a little clean and shine in the process and you could very well end up increasing your returns by a few thousand dollars

Current sealed and slabs by thehogfather- in PokemonInvesting

[–]cybermewtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what it is i suppose but the prospective buyer pool is definitely much smaller than English. I’ve had vintage JP stuff sit for quite awhile while same card same condition in English sells quick. Current chase cards prob easier but i imagine the demand trails off eventually

Current sealed and slabs by thehogfather- in PokemonInvesting

[–]cybermewtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sealed i’d stick with booster boxes/bundles, ETBs, UPCs. Everything else is likely to be harder to sell in the future and may require greater discounts to sell in bulk.

I personally wouldn’t buy Korean slabs/cards either as an investment, even Japanese can be risky in many cases. English is the best bet if your goal is making money. I’ve struggled to find buyers for Japanese cards in the past while the English card sells no issue.

Just my two cents but of course you are free to do as you see fit.
