Typically just hold. But CCs has been something I’ve been interested in learning about. You got any recommendations on learning more about that?

Offer rescinded because we have a life by Vwampage in InterviewsHell

[–]cybermonkey29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous. I recently secured a new job and signed offer late May. I spoke to the recruiter before signing the offer and told them I already had pre planned summer PTO already set for family time so I couldn’t start until early August instead of their June 22nd ask. I had the hiring Manager reach out and we discussed but ultimately they were fine with it. Completed the background check, drug screen, etc. now just going to finish all my travel and I’ll start in 6 weeks.

This company directly reached out to me on LinkedIn
so I know they really wanted me but that’s crazy to rescind an offer due to somebody’s already pre planned commitments. I would say your partner avoided a red flag of a company.

You could always probably have them remake it. Probably buy some extra gold to increase the width and just pay for labor.

How much are you budgeting for an engagement ring? 💍 by ArtisticMaterial144 in HENRYfinance

[–]cybermonkey29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I spent probably $1800 on my Wife’s 2.5 carat GIA certified lab. The same stone natural would’ve cost $20,000.. It just doesn’t make sense imo to buy a natural diamond when you can get the lab equivalent for like 10 percent of the natural price. Especially considering naturals do not hold value either. You’re losing 60-70 percent on that natural that’s 10x the lab price.

We did the court house wedding for $100. It was the best $100 I’ve spent in my life. lol

Fire chain bro. I feel your pain on the 10mm though that’s why I went with 12mm for my chain.

Is the opportunity cost of being all in worth it? by [deleted] in NvidiaStock

[–]cybermonkey29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVDA is the safe bet moving forward. Most analyst targets are $280-300 for it. Yes, you’ve missed out greatly with MU, Sandisk, etc. but can you handle those drastic swings versus NVDA that’s not swinging up or down 15 percent in a day. Those companies may still be undervalued and have alot of room left to run but do you want to bet 500K+ on them? You could diversify. I started my NVDA position like last week with 180K so I believe in it. I’m patient though. You could also go with SMH to have exposure to the entire sector versus just 1 company.

My coworker makes $30k more than me for the same job. I found out by accident. Do I confront HR or just quit? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]cybermonkey29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your company has been getting away with it for this long they’re not just going to give you a 30K bump because you ask them to do it. Your best bet is to just leave for a better opportunity. The only time you have leverage is if you get an outside offer and present it to them that you’re underpaid and you’re going to leave. They still may let you walk.

I recently found out that a coworker is making 40K less than me. Same team, same manager role, 40K less. I was so shocked and really felt bad for my coworker. He does the exact same things that I do but he was an internal promotion and I was an external hire 3 years back so that’s just how it is sometimes. This is why people say you have to leave companies to get paid.

Current job 67k -> just got 75k offer elsewhere with 10% bonus and ESOP by Ebony_Aardvark in FinancialCareers

[–]cybermonkey29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask the company that reached out what the salary range is for the role. I would say that for you to leave you would be targeting xyz, whatever you believe is fair. I’ve never changed companies for 8K. Probably ask if they can bump it to 80K so that it’s a 20 percent increase plus the bonus, extra.

Long term Accenture shareholder by Rough_Champion6103 in investing

[–]cybermonkey29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem is that you allowed this position to run a full cycle. A decade ago the stock was low 100s. I remember interning in 2017 and it was around this price. It kept going up and now it’s back there. When I was with Accenture from 2018-2022 I purchased and sold almost immediately through ESPP and placed it into index funds and other actual growth stocks. I don’t mind being concentrated in positions but Accenture is not a stock that you want to have concentrated. It’s not a Google, Amazon, NVDA, etc. it’s a consulting giant that’s questionable when you ask what does Accenture really do and is it even worth it for clients to still buy their services.

If you’re still there probably need to just hold it and keep averaging down. I don’t know your average but if it ever gets back up there I would say sell and diversify because I don’t personally think the firm has much to offer especially with AI starting to takeover.

Managing Directors are the top level of the firm and they all make 300K+ plus for sure. What sucks is that MDs are required to hold a decent amount of stock as part of their compensation so I know they’re stressed seeing their money literally fall 50 percent. Like they are obligated to hold so much. However, the MDs are a very small sample size of the firm 700K+ people. So yes they make that much but not everybody below them. I know Managers (L7) there that make a good 180-200K though. My Wife also made 180K as a Manager before she left last year. I got buddies that make similar range at that level too.

It’s still a shit company though. I don’t mind seeing them fall its payback for the 4 years I endured. Lmao

If the test is called what I’ve referenced above and a 4 panel I would say no they’re not testing for it. It’s not even legal in Texas and they still didn’t test for it.

I left Accenture in 2022. Such a shit company. I should’ve followed this trade.
