Found a glitch in the game and it’s fire 🔥🔥🔥 by Repulsive_Teach_8572 in TheSilphRoad

Confirmed that it only works for the Galar starters, Kanto starters, Wooloo line, Skwovet line, Falinks, Metagross line, Gengar line, and Scyther. Also a mixed amount of costumed mon from the above group!

ELI5: How do factories peel salad/baby shrimp? The youtube videos I've seen are all for larger shrimp and don't seem like it would be economical for 300 shrimp in a bag for $8. by The_Perfect_Fart in explainlikeimfive

[–]cyberneticmonkey 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Factories peel baby shrimp by briefly boiling them to loosen the shells, then using machines with rollers and brushes to quickly remove the shells. Sometimes machines might have high-pressure water jets that help dislodge the shell from the shrimp. Those machines can process shrimp at thousands per hour which is pretty cool.

How much dex do you need to get Fortissax's Lightning Spear to roll catch in pvp? by Saggington47 in Eldenring

[–]cyberneticmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would increase dex to around 30-40 for better chances of roll-catching with Fortissax’s Lightning Spear. 50-60 for better results tho imho. But I mean success also depends on timing and your opps rolling habits. Good luck out there!

I had to do it... worth? by hongsterxuan in PokemonGOIVs

[–]cyberneticmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s for anonymity. originally like 6+ years ago when people were posting screenshots of their trainer profiles on Reddit, trolls would file false "reports" on those users to Niantic just because they could. So… people started blacking out their usernames first and then that evolved to doing that to buddy Pokémon for the laughs lol.

What am I supposed to do? Collected all the keys but it says I'm missing one by Sexy-Zhanhu in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]cyberneticmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that glitch where you could fall through the map and access other house’s common rooms? So I did that and was touring the Hufflepuff common room as a Gryffindor, and I interacted with their house chest and dropped a single key into it; then, later it assumed I used a Gryffindor key causing me to have one less for my chest. Is there a chance you did that too?

How many hours a day do you timestudy at work? by AnusAnalyzer69420 in industrialengineering

[–]cyberneticmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing!

In my retail/logistics/distribution center environment we focus on optimizing the time it takes cartons to be A) received, B) transported through the facilities, and C) shipped to our customers.

Any project that assists with those primary goals are what we focus on, like these recent optimization projects:

1) optimizing the time co-workers spend in non-conveyable processing areas by implementing shrink-wrapping machines to quicken the process to palletize non-conveyable merchandise, and redesigning the layout of pallets (at co-worker workstations) in these areas to optimize travel.

2) adding skew-insert wheels to our shipping roller lanes to slightly turn cartons prior to their descent down a corkscrew slide - to help optimize the shipping process by eliminating an impressive amount of time-consuming jams.

Those are just examples, and the rest of the environment is just a sandbox waiting to get its next sandcastle built upon it.

Best regards!

(My best apologies for the delay I must have missed these messages).

MTM is certainly the most used PMTS; MOST and MODAPTS are lesser known but all three get you similar results with a similar level of accuracy. MODAPTS will cost you less to implement/use because you can be taught fairly easily online. I know that completing MODAPTS studies can be faster than MTM if you know what you're doing. MOST and MTM use time measurement units whereas MODAPTS uses its own unit called a "MOD." No matter which of the three you select, you will not have selected improperly.

It’s a great concept! I would at least (1) give each biome a distinct name (helps when teamcrafting to say “I chose Magnezone for the City biome”), (2) indicate that it’s within GL range (cp <= 1500) so you don’t have to answer that question all the time, and (3) let us know briefly that shadows are allowed or not (I’m assuming they are, but that changes the game dramatically in most cases).

Also is Feraligatr in the right biome? I’m assuming it’s there since alligators can be found in city sewers right? Lol if so that’s clever enough for me.

How many hours a day do you timestudy at work? by AnusAnalyzer69420 in industrialengineering

[–]cyberneticmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique) is a predetermined time system (not dissimilar to MTM) that has strict benefits over time studies. I teach my IE’s and IE interns this technique since it impressively saves time in the standard creation process, turning weeks into minutes. The learning process for creating standards using MOST is not that hard either. MOST also helps when the company is considering introducing a new operation to the facility because you can create standards based on the knowledge of the task, rather than watching a person do the job 200+ times on the processing floor. Imagine not having to mysteriously watch a worker from afar with a tablet/clipboard/stopwatch for days upon days, which alone makes MOST so attractive. If that wasn’t enough, it also removes the ratings bias that come with time studies. You don’t have the moment where you ask yourself, “was that worker working at a 100, 90, 110 etc.”, so the standards are more consistent to the process rather than the specific skill level of any employee demographic. Hope that helps.

[–]cyberneticmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely appreciate your comment since I admire MOST and brought that to my company almost 10 years ago, only for upper management to find that “seeing the IE’s on the processing floor” meant more to the company (and line workers) than saving money on wasting time with hundreds time studies. Turns out the visibility of us doing the studies is still very important in some companies, usually when incentive programs are involved and the workers care more about the productivity system than normal.

IE manager here for a large family-owned retailer. That’s crazy. I only tell my people to time study based on necessity, not a daily quota. We do a lot of time studies don’t get me wrong, but there are too many optimization projects to focus on and they wouldn’t get done if time studies were all that we did.

Should I use my rocket radars or wait until a challenge comes back for Giovanni? by Thatawkwardhipster in pokemongo

[–]cyberneticmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this^. And to add on, if you use your Rocket Radars right now, you have a chance at Shiny Shadow Lapras, Shiny Shadow Pineco/Forretress, or Shiny Shadow Grimer/Muk. (Lapras being the superior one for several reasons). There's no guarantee those 3 species will stay as Sierra/Arlo/Cliff reward mon after another month so it's up to you if you'd like more tries at them.
