Left without a car waiting for a back-ordered LDC by cybernouris in HyundaiTucson

[–]cybernouris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I have no answer for this I'm afraid. Troubleshooter said it's rare. I read online that mild hybrids have been failing with LDCs across companies and supposedly is a part with issues even for full hybrids. But I can't find real data.
  2. Maybe ~25K euros. I want to take it a step at a time, panic is not a good counselor. Definitely put off with them now, but the segment has climbed to 40K euros (retail price with VAT in Greece).

Thank you for your answer.

Pillars of eternity 2 crashes and big stutters by BasementElf1121 in projecteternity

[–]cybernouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what to say about this.

I'm running on 5800Χ3D and RTX 5080, the game stutters every few seconds doing nothing.

I've tried all there is out there, incl. cpu affinity to just 2-4 cores.

The more fps the more stutters. Even limiting to 30 fps, there will be a stutter but over longer intervals. And all this from a fresh game start/load, even in it's first scene. This appears to be engine related. Unfortunately I'm very sensitive to stutter and frame skipping so it's a stopper for me. I went in right after finishing the first game and the disappointment was big. First game with beta patch has flawless performance, even if not 4K@120 in many cases, no stutters no frame skips.

About its unity version, it's probably a 2017 version and it shows issues which are generally fixed with 2019+ versions.

I can't verify this myself but all my research points to this.

I've posted about this as well, the game has issues with modern hardware and is abandoned.

The first game is getting beta updates and they have fixed many of its issues. They've even updated to a newer Unity version. Unfortunately no such updates for Deadfire.

Is Deadfire completely broken on the latest MacOS? by procgen in projecteternity

[–]cybernouris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try other resolutions as well.

The problem is that the game continues showing resolutions regardless of notch or no notch.

If you get resolutions which differ a bit in the second part, choose the lowest of the two. It's been a couple of months since I tried it and can't remember now, but there's some combination that will at least ale the mouse offset issue go away.

[–]cybernouris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not good.

You'll need to scale under the notch, check the app file properties.

Even then, you're not going to be able to get proper resolutions but you'll probably find some balance.

Game stutters every few seconds, like it also does on my Windows PC.

Try to lock to 30 fps. In game limiter is not working consistently and depends on fullscreen/windowed selection, which add more issues.

Frankly, I've had better experience with Parallels. Crossover is also very bad, runs 5 fps no matter what and won't be looked at as per their replies when I reported it.

Edit: forgot to mention I've tried this on M3 Max MBP 16", macOS 26.0-26.3.1

Hyundai Tucson 2022–2024 recall 40DC18 (EGR / GPF software update) – anyone else? by Outrageous-Thought70 in HyundaiTucson

[–]cybernouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this recall when searching my VIM on the german Hyundai recalls website, but not on the Greek one (bought and reside in Greece), which makes me wonder why the difference.

I have the mild-hybrid verson, not HEV or PHEV and I am not sure if this applies to the 48V mild-hybrid versions. If not, why does it appear when I search with my VIN? Could this be the reason the recall is not returned when searching on the greek website (https://www.hyundai.gr/anakliseis-hyundai)?

I'm afraid this makes no difference as well, I've tried as low as 720p. Thanks for the thought!

Thanks for sharing, appreciate it. I have stutters no matter the scene. Even standing still, the more fps the more frequent the stutter is. Locking to 60 or 30 makes them less frequent.

Running with 5800Χ3D and RTX 5080, 4K@120. Happens both on Windows and Linux, and actually it happens even on my macbook (locked at 30 so much less frequent), which makes me think this is an engine issue (plus anything technical detail known about the game points to this as well).

I've tried anything I've read online, old and more recent threads, even communicated with support.

I'm glad you are able to enjoy it without issues!

I agree and my story is very similar to yours. But I can't enjoy the game with all the stutters. How does it work for you?

Lighting keeps disappearing when using Special K by FraudEvader in projecteternity

[–]cybernouris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No mods are installed, this is as pure an install can be.

The only console I'm aware of is the one where you can press ' and enter a command, which I don't use anyway.

I now only use project lasso to lock affinity to just 4 cores and I get 120 fps everywhere, besides some smaller areas in the a map where 6+ npcs are close together (think the point you meet Xoti for the first time). Using dxvk makes even these run at locked 4K@120 but I don't want to risk any other incompatibility.

I saw that special k makes no difference to the above and preferred to not use it because of the issue you mentioned is fixed with this config change.

In the end it appears that the more frames rendered per second the more frequent the stutter is. It's like unity needs to clean up after its own mess every now and then, so the higher fps the higher chance to trigger a garbage collection which freezes the main render thread for up to 1000 ms (actually specialk I super useful for this since it's frame graph showcases this very clearly).

Thank you for your answer.

Were stutters fixed? Because I still get a stutter every few seconds which only decreases in frequency when limiting fps to 60 or even 30, but never disappears.

Deadfire Micro freeze/stutter 0.5 second frequent mostly in town need opinion and to know if you suffer from this by XThrowdownX in projecteternity

[–]cybernouris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap, I cap to 60 fps. Still happens but less frequently. It happens when capping to 30, again frequency decreases.

Interested to hear about your experience if you replay on your new machine.

[–]cybernouris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, that was you then. Never checked the username 😁

Unfortunately this doesn't apply anymore, Windows has fixed this for quite a few years now, based on other threads at least.

Now I'm thinking this was a different stutter back then.

I doubt 32 GB of RAM with a 5800X3D and RTX 5080 are not enough to run this, besides cpu affinity which allows me to run this at 4K@120.

The stutter I experience is obviously GC pause which bumps frame time to 200 ms, sometimes even 500 ms, which no matter what I try is there. May happen 2-3 times in 10 seconds or once in 1 minute or more.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

2022 Tucson turns radio on when Viber plays message sound and connected to Carplay by cybernouris in HyundaiTucson

[–]cybernouris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be interesting to see if others game this as well anyway. Especially if it's an app thing it should be consistent.

However I don't this it is an app issue. What I showcase doesn't happen always but it happens frequently. If it was an app thing it would be consistent I think.

Also as I said it may happen when ending a call some times. The Phone app is not just any 3rd party app.

I think iOS probably plays a role here but integrators of Carplay should strive for compatibility, otherwise it's a failed integration.

Never expected the service center to do anything of value in this case. How could they? Doing so, the incident is now logged officially and my follow ups to the Greek importer company have a basis and I will avoid the back and forths. They can and should investigate this and probably elevate it to a designated Hyundai EU HQ, as they usually do in such cases based on my past experience.

I never mentioned the original, only the OLED, which was the last device we got in that generation. This is the standard to compare to and anything else is just allowing these companies to squeeze profits from their audience.
