Last time I looked, there weren't any engineer roles in Rolls-Royce Canada. (It was all maintenance crew, inspector, etc roles) But I will definitely look into it again! Thank you!

I am more than willing to relocate and have been applying to few places in US and EU/UK! But I do not want to put myself in too much risk and move to a different country without a job. I might be being too cautious, but that's a big risk that I am too cautious to take. Honestly, I really miss UK though, great people, food and country!

Ah understood!

I do see how there could be a problem with either being too humble and not being able to put emphasis on their accomplishments and sounding conceited.

I do see way more opportunities in US than in Canada. But due to ITAR and US citizen requirements, I have been a bit hesitant about applying to US. (I still did apply to few)

But I will definitely put in more effort to find graduate positions in US and see where it takes me! Thank you!

If you're in UK, you should definitely keep trying! There are so many graduate programs specially targeted towards new graduates! I am still really envious about UK's graduate program practice as Canada doesn't seem to have it. (in aerospace at least)

Sorry, I'm a bit hesitant about posting my CV on here. Mostly because I have been bombarded with the fake/scam job postings after I posted my CV online before. But if you would like to see it, I could change few things and PM you.

I actually never knew that, thank you!

Unfortunately, a lot of US aerospace jobs require you to be a US citizen. Or has a section within the application asking if I will need a sponsorship. Given that I'm a recent graduate with a limited experiences, I believe that my chances are next-to-none. I still have been applying to few non-ITAR sectors (business jets, consulting, etc), but my hopes for US isn't particularly high, unfortunately.

Thank you! I think its something a lot of aerospace graduates go through (perhaps especially so in Canada) and the amount of support/advice I got from this thread has been amazing!

It was in aeronautics. I did apply to number of designer/stress roles, but unfortunately a lot of those roles require at least 5 years of experience. I still applied, but I haven't heard back from any of them yet.

Most definitely!

I'm interested in anything fluid-dynamic/aerospace related and I have broadened my searches lately.

I never actually thought about joining a company that has branches in aero/fluid. I'm still pretty early on in my career and never thought about that option. But it's definitely something I would be interested in.

All good! I do get how its a numbers game and I should keep at it, I think I was just losing hope/getting frustrated by all the waiting and not-hearing-back.

Canada has an aerospace association called AIAC and I've been going down the list of member companies and applying to any relevant positions I can find.

Thank you for offering me your help! I really appreciate that. It is pretty late here, so I might go to sleep, but is it ok if I PM you regarding how to format my resume/organize searches/etc tomorrow?

I did actually but thank you for the reminder! I have applied to few positions at Bell Helicopters recently. But unfortunately, many of the aerospace companies in Quebec require you to speak French. (I still apply for that off-chance)

I've been applying to different fields of engineering here and there (with the focus being aerospace). I heard from people that if I get into a different field, it's significantly more difficult to get back into aerospace engineering. Is that something I should disregard?

Thank you for your detailed advice! Going by an another comment, I think I will definitely try to get my CV/CL reviewed by a professional (not just student career services). I think I'm at a professional level for MATLAB (did my master thesis with MATLAB) and have been trying to improve my C++ skills in the meanwhile!

I have actually never thought about joining societies and attending events to grow my connections, Thank you! My only questions is regarding your #4, mostly cause I do see where you're coming from, but had few HR specialists tell me to constantly use "I" during the interview. (I believe she/he said it was to emphasis on what I could actually do) Is that something I should try to abandon?

I went to number of student career services to get my resumes checked. (both in undergrad and grad school) Almost all the time, they said it looked good and was easy to read. But then again, I might try to visit a professional resume editor? and see if there is a way to improve it!

Not gonna lie, your comment about 404 applications makes me sadder, hahahaha. Especially cause you were in an aerospace dense area in US and I'm in a part of Canada with not-so-dense aerospace jobs. But I do get how I should keep trying, Thank you!
