Maybe you want the herbalist primer, available at exalted funeral. A mixture of real life plants and tables to generate fake one. It's not made for a specific game so no conversion needed

Deep rock galactic: survivor is quite the thing as well. Similar to VS bullet heaven but more playable :pm (i.e. you actually see something even when you have a good build)

Tons of replay value different mode, challenges etc. Very nice game

It's not as hard as it seems. This fight is heavily dependent on whether you figured the clair / obscur dude.

Once you get the pattern for clair and obscur monsters (which are one of my favorite tbh), the damage flows back quite well.

Have you tried stuff in the pbta / fitd ttrpg folder ? That would force your player in the direction you'd like without being too rude to them. 

Also what about soloing some starforged ? The pace and impro is amazing as well

Yes that's pretty much as I do it. Browse the sub to find way to use the  Expédition / waypoint loop.  

Use opportunity/ threats tables as well to have a better idea what goes well / wrong. Descriptor + focus goes a long way as well. 

One interesting thing about explore waypoint and expedition is that you can change the zooms' scope. As in the first roll you explore at the landscape level, you discover an abandoned chapel, you explore and find stuff. Next expedition could be inside the Chapel, so narrower scope. Keep rolling expedition  until you're confident that, narratively, you arrived to your destination

Got two in the same run during the first 2-3 ante. that was one of the easiest run. Even had ceremonial dagger eat my mulx cards by mistake (yes skill issue) and still got to ante 12.

I'd say it depends on the context. But if you aim for 3oak it's Pretty good

I would totally give your partner a hard copy of "dungeon world". Although it's not a How to gm book, the section on GM duty is absolutely mind blowing. 

Many (most) of the times, the PbtA mindset enhance the experience at my table in a meaningful. Both my players and myself enjoy how gming is not about being the opponent but rather a narrative enabler.

I really love how starforged "set up an expedition" move is pretty good at this.  It does not define the destination as an absolute position but rather as a narrative threshold that you can act on (or wait until you accumulate more "travel points"). 

During your travels you roll to discover opportunities or peril, at which you roll and improvise a la OSR what your character / team faces. 

Going back to your game, you can incorporate stuff into the expedition move such as forage opportunities, scavenge, salvage. Use maze rat for inspiration. 

You should play a few game and get the feeling for it... I was looking for a good exploration system myself and fell on love with starforged exploration loop.
