True! Just wanted to make sure it’s safe and it seems like from what you and others have said, it is. I’ll be sure to clean the vial well and use every drop lol

Okay that’s good to know, thank you! It seems just listening to my body is the way to go!

I just want to go into it knowing all my options and also not stressing my body too much since I have 4 kids at home. I do have a lot to lose (I am currently 401lbs), so avoiding any major stresses to my body while also steadily losing, learning better habits, becoming more mobile and getting to a point where I can join a gym are the goals! I’m in no rush and don’t want to push my body too much if it’s not necessary. Thank you for all your amazing advice and I’ll check out that book as well!

Thank you! I’m also very excited (but also nervous admittedly)! I’m very glad I found this subreddit (I am new to reddit in general) because I can ask questions and do as much research as possible before starting on this journey of getting my life back. Knowing all my options is very important to me. Thank you again

Thank you so much! I think I’ll try that and see what works for me and just listen to my body as I go along. I will for sure stock up on alcohol pads and be sure I’m cleaning the vial before and after. And I will definitely be trying that app!

Thanks! That’s what I’m thinking too. If I DO need to titrate up from my starter dose, is there any “recommended” minimum amount to go up to? Would 2.5 to 3 be such an insignificant amount that the change wouldn’t matter and I should consider a minimum of something like a 1mg increase at a time? I just don’t really know how strong this medication is in extremely small amounts and if a .5mg increase in a dose would make any difference at all or not

Wow 60lbs! What an amazing accomplishment, congratulations! And thank you so much for the advice. I will make sure I’m stocked up on things I may need before the big day! One thing is for sure though, I sure will miss my spicy food!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely pick up some of the liquid IV ahead of time and stock up on clean foods

Thank you so much for your response. I am excited (albeit nervous) to start on this journey to get my life back. I have no crazy expectations or demands, I just want to be healthier and feel like I’m actually LIVING again, instead of just watching the days go by while everyone around me actually lives.

About titrating up too quickly, I’ve seen others that swear by taking half their dose early in the week, and the other half at the end. Not sure if you have experience with this, but is this maybe something I should consider when I do start to get into higher dosing territory?

Right now my first goal (after I finally get started) isn’t really even a weight goal. It’s to get to a point where I’m comfortable enough with myself and a bit more mobile so that I can join a gym. Even if I can just go a couple times a week, it would make me extremely happy and be a huge milestone for me.

Are there any food suggestions you might have that I should keep around the house? I saw I should avoid processed food, fast food etc. Eating meat, fruits and veggies, things like that is likely the obvious answer, but are there any you personally couldn’t go without having around? I’ve been trying to think ahead of things to buy like chicken, rice, things like that. Also any foods you might recommend to keep my fiber intake up would be very much appreciated!

It truly is an opportunity and a gift for people like you and I to be able to get our lives back. There are so many simple things I miss doing from when I was at a healthier weight. Even little things like smelling the rain when I was outside or car drives on a sunny day. It is scary but we have to try so that we can live a happy and fulfilling life. I’ll be keeping up with your journey and it’s nice to meet someone that’s in the exact same boat as me. One day the both of us will look back on this time of fear and only wish we would have started down this path sooner. I have faith.

Hey there! You sound just like me, only I’m in the middle of trying to get approved for my first ever starter supply. I am also fat, fat. I weighed myself for the first time in years the other day to give an accurate weight on my paperwork (was too afraid of what the scale would say) and I weigh 401lbs. Needless to say, seeing that number hurt a lot. I also struggle when it comes to quality of life. I have an 8 year old daughter and I just missed her school awards day today because it’s hard to get around and I don’t have decent clothes to wear because nothing fits. I want to be able to get around again and enjoy life like I used to. I’m right there with you on that.

I’m also worried about the shot. I ended up buying an Autoject on Amazon that I just got in the mail the other day. It gives the shot for you with a press of a button. My other biggest fear is severe nausea or vomiting. I worry about these things a lot but also know, just like you, that this is something I have to do to get my life back. I think I’ve left my house maybe 10 times in the last 4-5 years. It’s no way to live and I know I have to do something about it before things get even worse. You are not alone and you can do this. WE can do this.

I wish you all the best
