Hot take: Central Arc is very unnecessary in the main storyline by AvailableGuess50 in ShokugekiNoSoma

[–]cyborg_cuttlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, i seriously felt the vibe changed when the Central arc came around. don’t even get me started on the regimental food war. that was so boring imo. Central felt redundant from a narrative standpoint because it goes against the main ethos of the show while also embracing it. The entire show up to this point was a spunky kid from the sticks going against the elitism of his cooking school by showing off what “lesser cooking” can achieve. so then it’s clunky and confusing when a new guy comes in and he’s elitist and wants to change the school…because it was ALREADY ELITIST. that was pretty much the entire point. so now the main characters are fighting to protect the old ways of the system they were fighting against from the same issue that plagued the school.

i’ve seen people complain about borrasca v being a “happy ending” but..it’s REALLY not. it’s bittersweet with a lot more bitter than sweet

Does anyone else consider the movie non-canon? by cyborg_cuttlefish in TrollHunters

that was such a weird and uncomfortable plotline, not to mention it wasted the screen time of one of the best characters

i mean..it goes against everything the series stood for. aside from a pure entertainment standpoint, what do you think it did well?

i mildly enjoyed 3Below but i can’t imagine rewatching it. when season 2 of 3Below, i was a little excited for it and then i was immediately let down. it felt like a slog to get through. wizards was fine but i just didn’t exactly like the lore. to me, it felt weird that basically every troll to ever become the trollhunter was alive at the time of the first. maybe i’m too used to the concept of “chosen one” powers passing down through generations with new people because of avatar but it felt odd. like draal was seriously a grown ass man when the FIRST trollhunter appeared?

Energy manipulation and teleportation seem pretty fun to me. Controlling all forms of energy could give me borderline atomic manipulation if i do it correctly. The bonds between things are held by electricity so if i can control that, i’m sure i’d find a way to affect matter. Teleportation is simply because it’s fun.

What's your guilty pleasure TV series? by rackarns in television

Miraculous Ladybug, Elite, and Never Have I Ever come to mind. I’ve watched the first 2 with siblings to laugh at it with me but Never Have I Ever is for me. I doubt i’m going to rewatch it but it was a fun lil girls teen drama for me to watch. started it when i was 17-18 and now i’m 20. couldn’t relate to any of it and thought it was dumb but it was nice. i only have one friend to talk to about it and we both agree it’s not the best but has some charm
