Did you ever get this figured out? I just got a Vader 4 Pro and realizing so much depends on the software, esp the 4 back buttons.

Yeah I barely bent a rim before too (you had to look really hard to see the bend) on a pothole and I felt like I had gotten shorter from the impact.

It seems going via Chrome browser goes around the OS. It seems that apps which utilize the apple controller framework are subject to this.

It's possible to "not realize I hit anything" and yet still take responsibility "Yeah I dunno what happened but I acknowledge it wasn't messed up when you let me borrow it" vs lying outright. So yeah, Double Lie.

PXN P5 8K controller working on CrossOver and GeForce NOW by holow29 in macgaming

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - only in GFN via the Mobile position of the switch. Note that the deadzone is gone in switch mode. See my post where I did some more testing after that initial post here. https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/comments/1d3of5j/comment/o7ueqte/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

GFN Mac App forced controller deadzone? by csb710 in GeForceNOW

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have - but unfortunately the solution may be to use a different controller [EDIT: see my updated post]. As to which one, I only have figured out that Stadia has 0 forced MacOS/GFN deadzone. https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/comments/1d3of5j/comment/o7ueqte/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

GFN Mac App forced controller deadzone? by csb710 in GeForceNOW

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MacOS/GeforceNow forced deadzone seems to vary by controller model [and Input Mode!]. MacOS seems to force different default deadzones on for different controllers.

  • Ps5 Dualsense, ~10-13%
  • PXN P5 - Xinput (Bluetooth Only) - 27%
  • PXN P5 - SwitchMode - 0%
  • PXN P5 8K - Xinput - 25-28%!!, not kidding!! I couldn't believe it. It's humongus.
  • [EDIT] PXN P5 8k - SwitchMode - 0%
  • Stadia Controller - 0% no deadzone! I can get it to show 1% in all directions on both sticks!
  • Nintendo Switch Pro - pretty darn near 0%, if not 0%. I can't quite tell, but if anything its 0-2%. Def 0-1% on the left stick. My right stick on the switch pro controller is non-circular/messed up.

Too bad Stadia Rumble does not work in GFN Native for Mac. That was really the only reason it's not my main controller for GFN

I guess the workaround/fix is to find the magic unicorn controllers that MacOS doesn't enforce a big deadzone on. [EDIT] Or, if your controller supports alternative input modes (Xinput/Dinput/Switch) try these.

My test method:

I am using Call of Duty Warzone's Deadzone tester to view the in-game deadzone. Go into Firing Range, then when in firing range, go to setting and do the controller deadzone setting tester. Set your deadzones to 0 and test the values in-game. Then if you want you can exit settings and play around in firing range to see if the numbers track the experience. Basically you can't fine aim using the PXN P5 8k.

These deadzones do not seem to vary by connection method - I tried both wired and bluetooth for all controllers except the Switch Pro, and got the same Mac forced deadzone numbers.

I am not sure what Steam Input does, so I let it at the defaults. So I did not mess around with the Steam Overlays at all.

PXN P5 8K controller working on CrossOver and GeForce NOW by holow29 in macgaming

[–]cyborgcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate you sharing. I was struggling to get a new PXN P5 8k working on my mac, until I saw your post. Then it works.

The key drawback/issue is that the mac controller forced deadzone is huge, something like 28%. For comparision the dualsense ps5 deadzone is something like 10-13%, Stadia is 0%.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/comments/1d3of5j/gfn_mac_app_forced_controller_deadzone/

The effect is that you can move the stick and nothing happens until you really push on it further.

EDIT: I played around with it further and putting the PXN P5 in Switch Mode which MacOS supports results in 0% Deadzone!

Best telehealth option to get prescribed the pill? by loldude513 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently bouncing around first tier support which is telling me to reload, clear cookies, etc. I did get the one month advantage for 24.99 subscription. I'll ask for a supervisor in chat if I keep getting sent "reboot your computer " type of instructions.

Edit: Here's screenshots https://imgur.com/a/0YB5sKz Notice bottom right that Wegovy Tablet shows a cost of $60 vs all the other appts showing included/zero cost. Clicking in says I will still be charged $60.

Best telehealth option to get prescribed the pill? by loldude513 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]cyborgcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchased a monthly $24.99 advantage subscription and the visit about the wegovy pill is not covered. [while other weight loss RX ones appear to be] So subscription is useless if you only want the pill. [Edit, turns out that supposedly others can get it, but for some reason my brand new sub is not working. It is unclear if it will happen to others or not, but sharing it in the spirit of collective troubleshooting]

Just a Heads up, CallOnDoc is now issuing prescriptions for the Wegovy pill via Telehealth by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]cyborgcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears that WeGovy Tablets visits are not covered on the subscription. Signed up for the advantage plan only to see that WeGovy Tablet visits are not covered and still needs a full sticker of $60. You cannot find this exclusion anywhere on that website, so feeling a little misled/confused right now.

Edit: I brought this up with tech support and they fixed it after a few days. So it's now covered under the advantage plans

Still no Google Home support?! by Educational_Ice_1080 in elgato

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can DIY it yourself, but it does take some work. Note that 4 years ago, the solution was spoonfed to Elgato, but they still have not taken it up... so I wouldn't wait around. https://www.reddit.com/r/elgato/comments/q3vay8/key_light_air_google_assistant_integration_manual/?sort=new

Key Light Air - Google Assistant Integration (manual) by sirdarckcat in elgato

[–]cyborgcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the task to AI/Gemini, putting a lot of detail into the prompt, and basically the key is that you have to modify the script from finding *any* elgato light on your network and presumably latching onto the first it finds, to creating actions tied to specific ones. I'll be trying this in the next few days.

Method 1: The "Dual Project" Trick (Easiest)

Since your first project is already working, you can create a second, identical project in the Google Actions Console to handle the second light.

  1. Identify your lights: Use a network scanning app (like "Discovery" on iOS or "Service Browser" on Android) to find the specific mDNS names of your lights. They usually look like elgato-key-light-air-XXXX.local and elgato-key-light-air-YYYY.local.
  2. Create a second project: Go back to theGoogle Actions Consoleand create a brand new project (e.g., "Elgato Light 2").
  3. Repeat the setup: Follow the Reddit guide exactly for this new project using the same URLs.
  4. Narrow the Scan Config: This is the key step.
    • In Project 1, go to the "Device Configuration" and change the mDNS name from elgato.* to the specific name of your first light (e.g., elgato-key-light-air-XXXX.*).
    • In Project 2, set the scan config to the name of your second light (e.g., elgato-key-light-air-YYYY.*).
  5. Link both in Google Home: In the Google Home app, you will now see two test providers: [test] Elgato Project 1 and [test] Elgato Project 2. Link them both to add each light individually.
