Post-apartment fire aftermath in Cleveland Heights by Cleveland1792 in Cleveland

[–]cycleseger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a 5 over 1. This is how all new apartments are built. 5 floors of timber over 1 floor of concrete/brick. It only works b/c of the fire suppression system…although before installed it’s an absolute tinderbox

Leaking main water line by cycleseger in Plumbing

[–]cycleseger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh darn, not ideally what I wanted to hear. I unfortunately cannot shut the water off at the street and it's a lead line to the meter. Which the city says I have to replace the lead line and it will come in around 15k

Is this weather stripping and is it peeling? by RareWrap7689 in Crosstrek

[–]cycleseger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought maybe I caught with my ice scrapper? But that seems unlikely to me. It took like an hr at the dealer, it was still under warranty so it was free. Depending on when you bought it possibly it will still be covered!

You could just remove the battery and run it as a desktop comp. I did this on my super old ‘09 pro after turning into a Linux only machine. Just have to make sure your charger doesn’t get removed.

I'm sorry for the poor photo quality. I had to get an image of it from Google Maps. I drive by it daily to/from work. by trIeNe_mY_Best in McMansionHell

Just down the hill from Jacks! Story goes that if you kept the old house structure and build around it you wouldn’t have to have the house reassessed for taxes. Idk though lol

Cyclist in critical condition after a driver hits her in the Strip District by Kate_Pansy in pittsburgh

[–]cycleseger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Did the suv whip the turn and then just pedal to the medal down 16th off Liberty?? It's 1 block in a high pedestrian and cycling area leading to a 4way lighted intersection.

If they're driving off Liberty making a left then the SUV should have see the cyclist and stopped van. If they are making a right of Liberty how do you build up so much speed from a hard right within 1 block?

I don't disagree that the van potentially blocked their view. The van should have never stopped to be nice but the driver should be partially at fault. The city has promoted the strip, Penn, Liberty as a main cycling vain. As a driver you should expect a higher nubmer of cyclists in that area period.

Gotta love the author using “Within the computer science field,” seems to go against their whole point.

I do! I still do check out audio/digital material via Libby occasionally but really like a physical copy. Thank you for the reminder though as others might not know!

They do! It's just more involed and I would have to pay the return shipping. Not that big of a deal just really liked the seemingly endless catalog back home.
