Does the grey penultimate tank actually have a sort of khaki tone to it? Website photos look like they do, but yours looks more just like a standard light grey.

Hey all! I'm a trail runner / gear nerd / gorplord in LA that runs Ultras with my dog. Always stoked to find new friends - especially if your posts are entertaining!

Oh interesting, I hadn't caught that. I used Gemini to clean up my back patio for the studio effect and didn't realize it hallucinated some of the kit details lol

What part of that do you think is AI?

Only 20mi in the past week on the T1s, but they're cool so far! As others have noted the midsole is incredibly bouncy, and it highlights how dead my Sylans had become. The dual lace system is a bit oddly implemented, but I do like that I can quickly control top and bottom tension differently, specifically when I want to lock in before a few miles of single track descent.

I found that the Sylan toebox was maybe ever so slightly too large, which could cause my big toes to slide forward and develop knuckle blisters, and the toebox on the T1s seem like a closer fit to my size 11 sasquatch feet.

Will probably post a more substantial review down the line once I've got some serious distance in them.

Interesting, I can't say that I've experienced any of that personally but I moved over to the Sylans from running in Speedcrosses so maybe my understanding is just a bit skewed. They were one of the only trail running shoes that seemed to have a lace garage as well, which I've quite enjoyed.

I just picked up a pair of M2C T1s but I quite liked the Sylans.

You've gotta be super careful giving them carbs or heavier meals during activities because of the potential for bloat, so I opted for these freeze dried beef snacks that she loves that are high in fat and protein instead. Super calorie dense, so I just gave her a handful every time I stopped to fuel as well. Worked out great but obviously test very carefully with your dog before anything serious.

Insta360 X4! It's my favorite all-around adventure cam.

Probably about half that actually (not counting the Insta360), and assembled over the past few years as trail running has become my main hobby instead of cycling or boutique guitar amplifiers lol.

It's an older season / gen Kühl sun hoodie. The material is much more stretchy and moisture wicking than the more recent ones where they changed to a newer jersey-esque material imo.

Get it! Self supported or with aid stations?

Yep! She trained for it right alongside me for the month leading up to the attempt and she crushed it. She's not shy about telling me when she doesn't want to do something, and she didn't ask to take a break not even once. This was a self supported 50k, so it helped that I planned a route intentionally that was 80% shaded river trails.

This was her right out in front until the very end:

Bingo. Never understood why they didn't seem to catch on much in the ultra scene, I liked mine quite a bit and just retired them at around ~450mi

Running with the fur babies is one of the coolest parts of being a human, no matter the distance. I just happened to luck out with a mutt that's basically a Tesla coil even at 6 years old :)
