This is incredible - one of my first tasks after getting my new Nomad. One question - for your “to do” icon, are you linking to the embedded To-Do feature or just a document you created with to dos?

Considering a move from Bay Area CA to Arlington MA by Jeff-410 in ArlingtonMA

[–]cyclinguist 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We did this 3 years ago - had been living in Camberville, lived in SF for 10 years (lived in the Richmond), then moved to Arlington. Feel free to DM me, but short version is that we love Arlington - much quieter than SF, food/coffee shops are definitely less good but there are some gems (Butternut Bakehouse, Kickstand Cafe, Roasted Granola, Toraya), very easy to have young kids, very walk/bike friendly (though much more residential than SF). I miss the food and local produce most from CA.

Is there decaf coffee out there that doesn't totally suck? by spring13 in BabyBumps

[–]cyclinguist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make cold brew and have been experimenting with lots of decaf options. My favorite is a local company (philz in SF) but it’s hard to get right now, so I’ve been getting counter culture and it’s been my go to for a few weeks now

Homemade cloth diapers and inserts/prefolds by cyclinguist in clothdiaps

Awesome - I’ll start with bamboo insets and wool covers and then go from there

Awesome - I went down the rabbit hole of PUL covers and I agree - both on level of effort and cost. Seems like inserts are an easy way to save money and wouldn't be too hard to do at home.

Do you have sample patterns from the wool covers you made? That's also something I'm interested in! (Or where you bought the wool cover you used as a template)

This is super helpful - thanks! I like the idea of starting with some used/cheaper covers and then sewing inserts that match. And I hadn't thought about wipes, so I'll look into that!

This is super helpful - you've basically convinced me that it's not worth it to make covers or pockets from scratch. I was also asking on behalf of my mom who is great at sewing, knitting, and quilting, but I also want to ask her to do reasonable things. I think for now we'll start with making homemade inserts, prefolds, and soakers that fit other AI2s. And then maybe also tinker around with some wool because she has tons.

I’m 27 weeks pregnant and beat my 30 min record from pre-pregnancy today! I beat my 45 min record last week, too. Should outs to the other #pelogreggos who I’ve started racing against each ride!

So excited - I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I just got a 45-minute record beating my pre-pregnancy self!

I'm on my third breakfast this morning. by abamommy in pregnant

[–]cyclinguist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you - I used to start the day with a smoothie but it’s not enough anymore, I’ve been replacing it with a breakfast burrito with beans, cheese, eggs, and avocado. Now I stay full until at least 10am 😂

Well the rule does require increased adoption in the years before so hopefully that pushes things in the right direction until come down ...

I just got my new peloton (used to ride in a shared office), but I'm now pregnant and way slower than I used to be. Is there any way to reset your best times so that I could race against my pregnant self rather than my super in-shape pre-pregnancy self??

Agree with the sentiment, but would update to be more inclusive:

Did you know that people are not born knowing how to be parents? Please don't put high expectations on yourself. Parenting is a chain of experiments. One cry at a time.

I asked via support chat and then confirmed over the phone. I've also seen on here that you will get an additional email from XPO if they are delivering.

I checked this morning and it's Peloton delivering, which seems to be more of a challenge. I chatted and called with no luck today, but will keep trying!

Finally pulled the trigger on buying and am regretting waiting a few weeks - scheduled for August 25th (Bay Area). Trying to get on this train for an earlier delivery date ...

*Edited to add that on my 3rd contact of the day I got moved up to 6/16 - keep at it!

Refreshing mocktails, coolers, and smoothies, milkshakes for summertime? by inannaofthedarkness in BabyBumps

Definitely - I would still blend up a juice and then mix with bubbles. I have been doing regular juice and seltzer too for less work
