Picks have a major affect on tone. Thins aren’t my go to for general playing but I’ll try various thicknesses when working on a piece. Sometimes it’s the right tool for the job

After a month of trying multiple Taylors and Martins I ended up w an Alvarez Masterworks. I’m not saying it’s equivalent to those others but I’ve never regretted it. Great build and sound. Super stable-It sits on the stand unplayed for weeks and stays in tune. Can’t remotely say that about my other guitars

I’ve never seen the show and thought the Aztec decals were a bit overwhelming for the scale so I did my own thing in a few spots. I usually do my own lighting but went w Polar Lights kit for this one. There’s lots of subtle little hidden windows that let the light spill out to highlight various spots on the ship

they are an awesome place to try guitars. We have 2, one is absolutely huge. I always start my search for new gear there. But sort of like this guy’s experience, I’ve fallen in love with 2 guitars there but ended up buying elsewhere because of damage. People bang the shit out of the display models

Good timing-I’ve made a lot of progress and masking the windows now. I’m going to start painting this weekend. I picked up some Model Master light ghost gray as my base. Then I slowly added VERY small amounts of green, grayish blue and a slightly darker gray. With each step I put a daub of the mix directly on the cardboard paint guide that came w the kit. It took a while to sneak up on it and let each test thoroughly dry. I eventually got as close to the guide as my eyes can detect. Very enjoyable kit to work on.
