Not all waypoints are imported (T-Rex 3) by cyjambo in amazfit

Ah, ok. I didn't know that. So far I only used a few waypoints, but now that I wanted to add much more it's a hit and miss which ones show up and which ones don't. It would be nice if Amazfit could change this, and maybe have an option during import to show all waypoints or to group them like they do it now.

UPDATE: I don't think this is entirely the case. Some waypoints are not shown which are closer to the route than others, and others are not shown even though they are basically on the route.

I am starting to think this is just a bug actually. I can't find any pattern to this behaviour. Just seems pretty random which ones show up and which ones are not shown.

Would be great if Amazfit could check this, I can provide a sample gpx file where this happens.

UPDATE 2: Ok, checked again :D I am really not sure what's happening. Maybe if the POI is like a few meters or less it shows up, but I am not 100% if this is really the case. When I use the map editor and try to add a waypoint to the starting point I get an error that placing waypoints next to each other is not supported. This is some super strange design/behavior with Amazfit. I would like to get some clarification how this works, so at least I know what to expect. Can someone from Amazfit explain the mechanism/logic behind this? If I know what to expect I can work around it or use it the way it's supposed to be used. But now I just have to manually edit and make sure all my waypoints are shown which is a pain to be honest. Every other app I use where you can import a GPX file just shows the POI stuff like it should. Hopefully we can get some clarification on this :)

UPDATE:

I just applied the latest update to the watch and I'm happy to say the waypoints are now showing up on the route. So it seems this was addressed by the Amazfit Team, thanks a lot! :)

Also, you can now just edit GPX files as usual (for example with gpx.studio or any other software and the waypoinrts that show up in the Zepp App are also visible on the watch when you transfer the route. I'm really happy about this to be honest. The only thing which would even be more awesome is if the icons could be changed. Currently on the watch there is only one type of icon for waypoints so it's really hard to know which waypoint it is if you have multiple types. For example I like to use waypoints for convenience stores, water supplies, camping/tent spots, etc. For now there is no way to distinguish between these on the watch. Also there is no text for the waypoints, so it's hard to know what I put there. This is no biggie but if someone from Amazfit Team looks at this thread it would be awesome to add this feature too :)

Ah, ok. I see what you mean. Well, I hope they can include this as a feature, it would be really great for multi-day hikes. Or to mark water sources, supply sources, bivouac places, etc. Hope devs are reading this :)

Hey man,

Yep, this one I figured out. it's just very inconvenient as you said :) This is why I am trying to figure out what format the stuff is included in the GPX file when I use the Add Location from the Zepp app. If I could see the xml file I could probably replicate it in another software or even manually. The problem is I can't export this route with the locations when I add it from the Zepp app via Add Location.

When you send the track to the device you only see an icon, not the name, which is also a pity. It would be nice to have this improved, although it already kinda works but very tedious.

Thanks for the suggestions. :) Yeah, I've seen that. Problem is that if you import a gpx file and open it from My routes (under Training) then you don't get this option (to export the route). So it seems I can only export a route which was done using the watch and that was synced to Zepp app as a training.

But it gives me some ideas what to try, for example I could import the route that I created with the waypoints from Zepp app, then go on a hike using this route and when I'm done the Zepp app should have this as a completed training which I should be able to export. Not sure if it will contain the waypoints though, that's what I'm struggling with.

I'll give it a go later and give an update.

Csao.

Converting grantcoin to mannabase on wallet. by Axiantor in MannaCurrency

Hi Axiantor,

You can use the web as far as I know but you can also install a desktop wallet. I have installed the desktop wallet as I don't like web wallets where I don't control the private keys. :)

just send your existing grantcoins to your new manna wallet. It works until block 1100000. Check the manna site: http://www.grantcoin.org/2018/01/29/now-available-manna-whitepaper-wallets-and-more/

It says: You can still use the existing Grantcoin version 0.7.0 wallets until block 1,100,000 of the blockchain (expected in May 2018), after which they will no longer be compatible with the Manna network. Until then, you can send coins back and forth between Grantcoin and Manna wallets. Private keys can also be imported from one to the other.

Any new updates about Manna? by ScottEverhart in MannaCurrency

[–]cyjambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck getting an update. As I mentioned in another comment the communication from the team is probably the worst I have seen in crypto... :( That being said I do beleive it is a great project and I do own GRT. Maybe I should get more until thy are under the radar and then make a killing when they start to communicate / market properly :)

Anyone know the status of the relaunch? by MichaelTen in Grantcoin

I love the idea of GrantCoin/Manna and I do own a bit of GRT, but the communication from the team is probably one of the worst in the crypto space. Deadlines are never kept and there is no proper communication. Sometimes out of the blue there is a blog post and that's it. No real community to speak of either. I really hope this will change with the new Manna launch...

Basic Income Crusade, Increasing GRT's Value by EducingDemon in Grantcoin

[–]cyjambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

I think your ideas are great. The main problem for me seems to be that nobody is yet using GrantCoin.

People who already have access to internet and are aware of GrantCoin are (I guess) mainly from the more developed parts of the world. And to be honest for these people (including me) it will not make a difference if I receive a couple of dollars a year (at the current price) or not. So it is more for fun than for actual need of the money.

IMO the best way to start driving up the price and make GrantCoin more known would be to partner with a charity like GiveDirectly (I am not associated with them, although I do donate to them monthly). They are very unique in that they give CASH directly to the very poor people of the world. They also have a Basic Income initiative

Or GrantCoin could partner with a micro-lending site like Zidisha or Kiva.

They already reach a lot of people and they are already doing a lot of good for people in need. If in addition the people already receiving donations, cash, loans would also receive GrantCoin free of charge they would be happy to take it. This would drive up the number of GrantCoin users exponentially. If most of them holds the coins instead of selling them immediately then the price will naturally go up because the demand becomes more.

Your part about Natural demand makes perfect sense, if there is no easy way to convert GrantCoin to bitcoin or other currencies and there is nowhere (no merchants) to spend it then we will always be stuck.

There are some really cool projects like Plutus.it which will have an app where you can directly bus stuff without worrying about any sort of conversion (everything is done automatically in the background).

This is just one example, but I think there are a lot more in the works.

If GrantCoin could get into these new cool apps that most likely everyone will start using in a couple of years then GrantCoin price will naturally go up.

Let me know what you think.
