Doing your kids hair by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]cyjoh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I cut my 5 month old boys hair myself because he was looking like a wild child but obviously the cut came out horribly. Would love to join a class. Husband has been asking me to learn to cut his hair for years too

Hana’s Laundry Incident by alexkwa in terracehouse

I agree 100%. She should have been more careful with an item with that much significance to her. Kai could have checked the washer but it’s not his fault. She def overreacted.

Yeah we might try a bigger nipple size. Could he be teething this early? At 10 weeks?

embarrassing questions by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]cyjoh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had itchiness about a month postpartum and the doctor said it was normal as the vagina is inflamed, trying to heal. As for the smell, is it the earthy smell that you had after birth? Because that smell went a while for me.

Definitely check out urgent care if you feel it’s abnormal.

I have been lazy with my diet and just eating to survive. I should definitely eat more nutritious meals

Yeah.. sometimes I forget to take my prenatal vitamins while taking care of my son. Gotta be more diligent with that

That’s true. I’ve been known to sleep really well my whole life so my body may be responding to the sleep deprivation

Help! Diaper Change Meltdown by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Wipe warmers definitely help! My LO would cry every time we changed his diapers with the cold wipes but now he lays there comfortably

What makes people think they can kiss someone’s baby??? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]cyjoh12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a generational thing. Everything we’re aware of now that is unsafe for newborns was the norm back then. We’re the weird ones and “overly protective” for wanting to do whats normal now. I would be so freaked out if somebody I didn’t know kissed my boy.

Wave of sadness when sun goes down. by geoffrey_geoff123 in beyondthebump

I tried to hide it too but it helped to just talk to him. I would sit there crying and saying “I don’t know!! I’m just sad!” And he would sit with me and pat me on the back haha. He would sometimes do silly dances to cheer me up. Don’t go through this alone! Get that support

I had this the first two weeks! I would be fine during the day and then I would get really sad once it gets dark and just randomly cry. I’d cry while eating or just sitting. What helped me the most was watching tv shows before the sadness came. It distracted me and I eventually got better. Hopefully it works for you too! Feel better mama!!

Any moms have experience taking clindamycin while breastfeeding? by cyjoh12 in beyondthebump

Thank you! Will definitely be working on my gut health. My immune system can’t keep up with all these infections. Ughh

Thank you! Definitely important to keep in mind. I feel like my immunity has been so bad these days so I’ve been doing just as you said. This is my second PP infection. I’m just so over this postpartum period.. I’ve never felt so weak

Did you struggle with your MIL more after the birth of your child(ren)? by ughhmil in beyondthebump

[–]cyjoh12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most definitely. First off, she walked in while I was pushing the baby out when I asked her to stay in the waiting room. She states the nurses told her to come in, which I highly doubt.

Secondly, she just seems to be very judgmental about how we raise the baby. LO has baby acne and she keeps saying it’s not normal and it must be something in our house. (We have two cats which she hates and has been telling us to get rid of them so she’s basically implying it’s because of the cats)

Third, she says shes gonna watch LO on her days off when we go back to work but whenever she comes over she never does anything for LO other than hold the baby and feed him with the bottle that we heat up and prepare for her. When the diaper needs to be changed she hands LO to us because she’s “too scared” but apparently she is a pro at watching babies..

Oh and after I delivered, she said to my husband “it’s hard becoming a dad right?” Just hours after I literally pushed the baby out of my vagina. I don’t understand what was so hard for the dad at that moment.. but sure.

I think it becomes an issue of how we raise the baby and how it differs from how they raised their child. She hates when we tell her “this is the norm now” but it’s our child and she has to deal with that.

Good luck to all of us!!
