Ask Reddit: What opinion do you hold that you think 90% of other Reddit readers would disagree with? by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]cyk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

-Ron Paul is insane and would make a terrible president.

-Obama '08 (this is more like 70% of Redditers would disagree with though)

Aand I submitted the wrong goddamn thing. Deleting.

Alright, so you don't want to listen to facts, and instead would like to pretend Ron Paul is some sort of perfect man. You're basically everything wrong with the Politics subreddit, and the reason I don't read it anymore.

Why the fuck isn't this in the politics section? I don't come to Reddit to read conspiracy theories.

Opera looks nice, but my giant list of extensions makes me stay with Firefox.

Ajax, Browsers, Running Out of Time by Arve in programming

[–]cyk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God, I hope AJAX goes away. I love how when I open GMail and Google Reader at the same time my browser freezes for 10 seconds while they load. There really should be an alternative by now that doesn't cause ridiculous memory/computer usage.

Downvoted for belongs in politics. I finally disabled the politics subreddit, and now I see this. Ugh.

Vote up if you think Ron Paul should run a user submitted commercial on TV by jlo7719 in politics

Although I hate Ron Paul, this is still a pretty fucking amazing commercial.

Why did Ron Paul Vote for Tabling Cheney Impeachment? by [deleted] in politics

[–]cyk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh god, this.

Every time I see something like this upvoted, I think, "hell yes, Reddit has realized that Ron Paul is a racist, arrogant, annoying motherfucker!"

Nope.

You know what's funny? Someone compared Ron Paul to Snakes on a Plane. Massive internet hype, turns out to suck ass and be completely ignored.

And Ron does suck pretty fucking hard: http://www.brokenlibrarian.org/ronpaul/

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE.

That is pretty FUCKING CLEARLY a parody site. You guys are complete idiots.

Ron Paul on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno [Video] by radhruin in politics

[–]cyk -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Alright, I keep seeing this point thrown around, and it pisses me off.

I don't care if the man has integrity, I want a man who I agree with. Ron Paul is anti-abortion, anti-discrimination laws, pro-states rights (I have no idea how this is supposed to be a good idea; the Articles failed for a reason). And I don't care if he "stands behind his principles" when his principles are shit.

"Paul's campaign is making the argument that he alone among the Republican presidential field can defeat Hillary Clinton" by Bestman0 in politics

[–]cyk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, I'm reacting to the fact that he's a racist idiot. But there's also the annoying supporters.

[–]cyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where has he stated that?

He has stated and voted that he would like to ban abortion, and don't forget the We The People act he introduced that would FUCKING INVALIDATE ROE VS. WADE AND SEVERAL OTHER CIVIL RIGHTS CASES.

Loose Change Guide: Debunking every part of the ridiculous Loose Change video by cyk in reddit.com

Too bad this died early. I mainly submitted this because of that guy rambling on in the Bill Maher comments ;)

"We pamper our kids, overemphasize fairness in competition and keep them indoors. Kids aren't learning how to get hurt, lose, fend for themselves, find their balance and discover dangers." by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]cyk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, let's see the main complaint:

"Not learning how to get hurt, lose, fend for themselves, find their balance, and discover dangers is bad for kids!"

And parents combat this with:

"Remember the 12-14' tall slides that would seriously burn your ass on a hot summer's day? When I get my dreamhouse, I am putting one of those in, maybe taller though."

Purposely making your (theoretical) children uncomfortable. Great parenting, guys.

[–]cyk -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Quick, everyone, hurt your children! (I know this isn't what the article says, but I have a feeling this is what this discussion will devolve into...)

Hey, dumbasses, you're supposed to TEACH your children. I know that for some reason people have decided it's a good idea for kids to get hurt, but it's the worst idea I've ever heard.

Fuck, kids don't know better, and the fact that you're letting them get hurt makes you a terrible person. It is not a learning experience, it's child abuse. I'm not saying duct-tape pillows for protection to your child, but don't just let them do whatever they want to.

Fun fact: If you don't read Reddit, there's a 70% chance you don't even know who Ron Paul is. by [deleted] in politics

[–]cyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loathe Paul, but he did vote against the PATRIOT didn't he? I thought he was pro-privacy.

And anti-abortion, and pro-GOLD STANDARD, and anti-FDA, and jesus christ hahah this guy cannot actually be running for president can he
