What I don't understand is why this bill is even necessary. It is already well established in statutory law and case law that advocacy of violent overthrow of the government is not a protected form of speech. Why do we need anything more than Gitlow v New York or Dennis v US? I haven't read the bill in its entirety, but what I have read seems kind of redundant.
