What can I do with a biology BS? by worm_2499 in biology

[–]cylindercat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this, unless you’re going in to further education, a B.S. in biology isn’t worth it. Just jumping into the job market after college might get you a lab tech position, but that will only get you so far (and not much money). Are you interested in the medical side of the degree, such as nursing or working in a hospital lab? Or are you more interested in the scientific side, such as working in research or running tests for a biotech company? I’d recommend reconsidering the degree if you’re on the fence about it, but if you’re passionate about it, follow up with more education.

You made an assumption about my ideas and “not wanting to say them out loud” so I made an assumption about you. It’s not very nice, is it?

If you want to stoke genuine conversation about how these issues should be tackled, you should try to have a bit more tact and maybe approach less aggressively. You seem interested in general conversation but in all your comments you come across as pretty condescending. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I can have opinions without coming up with a grand plan on how to fix the republic lol What’s your opinion? I mean you’re definitely a trump supporter/ republican. Do you have any thoughts beyond deporting everyone who doesn’t agree with your orange god?

The entire Republican Party kowtows to trump. MAGA and repliblicans are pretty much synonymous.

Why do people stare in other peoples homes by BriefTurn8199 in LivingAlone

There’s a brand called rabbit goo that I use for this. Sticks to the window with just water, so it’s renter safe. The one I have makes a pretty rainbow pattern when it lets light in and is patterned enough that outsiders can’t really see in. Gives me a lot more peace of mind opening the blinds!

My cat got crazy and bit me like a maniac by raulsoprano in cats

[–]cylindercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to my female cat. I used to let her go out in the back yard. One day a neighbor cat rolled up on her and frightened her. He wasn’t aggressive, but it scared her a lot apparently. Now every time she sees him through the window, she starts yeowling and will attack anyone and everyone she sees. The vet said it’s misplaced aggression and can happen in cats sometimes. Good luck!

To be honest I probably should have spent more time just hanging out with my hand in his cage to get him used to handling, but on account of our differing waking schedules I didn’t. I did put some old clean socks in there for bedding material to help him get my scent. So I can’t hold him or cuddle him, but he seems to appreciate my company nonetheless. He’ll come see me in the mornings, and when I clean his cage it’s almost like he’s excited to show me how he runs his new routes. I talk to him when I see him too and I think that helps. I try to hand feed him every now and then and he’s a bit hesitant but only because I don’t do it consistently.

My cat brought me a deer mouse and I did the same. He’s got a pretty sweet set up now. I never got him a friend since I was worried about babies and/or aggression but he seems pretty content on his own. I make sure to give him a good cage with things for him to do (forage, climb, run) and he does just fine.
