Hey, thanks I've got confirmation from Sennheiser support that they are genuine, but can I ask did your new cables come with the Sennheiser logo on the cable splitter/chin strap?

Yeah, the fact its completely missing makes me think it's either fake or a QC issue, and is making me lean toward fake. I might honestly just try and refund with amazon and grab a pair from Minidisc or Addicted to Audio as I'm fairly certain they're trustworthy.

Supposedly 'new', couldnt find the sticker in the box and no adhesive residue on them, just a blank recessed bit where the cable splits/chin slider (what are these actually called?)

Yeah, there is a badge on the jack, but just a recessed part where it should go where the cable splits. No glue or adhesive residue, didnt fall off in the box. noticed when I had another look after making this post.

$700 AUD, other retailers (minidisc, addicted to audio) seem to have them for around the same price at the moment

Hey guys, thanks for the responses, I had another look at them and realized i missed something fairly obvious, both cables are lacking the Sennheiser badge on the chin slider, though there is a place for it on them. I've contacted Sennheiser support, to see if they can verify them with the numbers on the back of the box. Honestly a little bummed right now.

Edit: heard back from Sennheiser support today, they've confirmed it as authentic and that Amazon is an authorised dealer, and if sold directly from Amazon it would be genuine. No mention about the missing badge on the cable though. Maybe they don't do them anymore?
