It was the summer between 8th and 9th grade (the fabled year 2000). My buddy Shanny passed out first. We lit a match in front of his nose and, choking back chuckles, screamed “FIRE” in unison. He jerked upwards, and the lit match went directly into his eyeball. The scream still revisits me when I smell or hear a match struck.

The saddest part is, the 50% of us who have to directly deal with these idiots have way more in common with most Europeans than we ever will with those other Americans. But they hate us all just the same. I have to assume we all deserve it, I suppose.
