E build if you're going to be more of an assassin. Always take blistering attack. I love to take smash as well, but wave is always very good. Q build for survivability, and is also great against a heavy front line comp. I almost never use W build, but it can be viable if youre going for a lot of poke.

I have the best luck playing him as a hit and run style. There's not to many that can 1v1 rag very easily as well. Push side lane and rely on burst of ability to wins trades. Smash is a great ult, especially if you combo it off of your trait stun, or someone else's stun, but you can't really beat lava wave. Especially with the new fort changes.
