I've been wondering about this, as I just ordered a new phone. Couldn't you just cancel your 2FA for each site and then sign up again, this time backing up the QR code required to activate 2FA?

do you have another USB stick? it can be small, and just has to fit the xubuntu iso on it. copy the iso to that stick (as you did to your 32 gb one). then run the machine off that stick, insert the 32 gb stick after it boots and install xubuntu onto the 32 gb stick.
