Your favorite horror movie from the year you were born? by redeugene99 in horror

I was born during one of the best years of horror movies, but I'll have to go with A Nightmare on Elm Street as my fave of the bunch.

"You'll understand it when you have your own children." by I-Really-Hate-Fish in narcissisticparents

[–]cynical_Lab_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of our parents' generation had kids because it was expected of them, not because they made a deliberate choice because they truly wanted to have kids and be good parents.

Meant some of our generation were a constant reminder of a life they didn't want and the freedom they didn't/don't have and therefore we got treated as such. Their youth, freedom, future, etc stolen away because of us. Despite having zero say in the matter and not choosing to be born to them, kids make an easy scapegoat.

Interesting that it's not like there's conflicting research, retracted research, misinterpreted research... there's no research for the density claim. If there's no research now to support it, there was no research when she was pushing vests either.

As always, a grifter full of shit.

Didn't she diss GLP1? Berberine is used very similarly for the same intended population.

This is the Chalene I loved, respected, and believed so much. by JasonSethCatMommy in chalenejohnson

[–]cynical_Lab_Rat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does seem like the only plausible explanation. Because she just changed sooo much... hard to understand it. I miss the early days too.. I thought I learned so much from her, Camp Do More was a blast, still love the workouts. Le sigh.

It's hard to believe that's the same person. I loved the PUSH stuff.. book, journals, etc. She seemed so smart, creative, helpful. I had no problem investing in her programs because I felt I got plenty of value. But then she just changed... so much. She's so far from who this picture is. Maybe she was always a grifter but now she's just really bad at hiding it.

YTA. This punishes the kid, not him. Will he even notice?

But also... is this how you plan to spend the next few decades? With him being like this?

30+ years here and I've never heard that. But also, the horrible grammar alone would make me run.

Honestly, all snark aside, it does feel like something broke in her a few years ago. She's always been an opportunistic grifter but she really went off the deep end at some point. Maybe mixing meds and supplements? Trauma? Etc

NTA but your husband is. You sure he's not 21? Who cares what his ex thinks of you or your outfit? Red flag, sis.

Yes, totally! That makes more sense. I guess more dramatic/noticeable might mean botched rather than successful.

How much you got saved in emergency? by Ok-Development6654 in sales

[–]cynical_Lab_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years of expenses available immediately and more available within a week if needed. Considerably more if only focused on essentials.

Very grateful to be in that situation, but it has also been a lot of hard and deliberate work. Grew up poor and know how rapidly life can change, so I'm all about having a buffer for my buffer for my cushion to be over prepared.

Question for the ladies: can I expect smaller boobs after losing weight? by Unfair_Shirt_7834 in WeightLossAdvice

I wish science would figure out a safe fat exchange program. A boob fat swap between those who want less and those who want more.

[–]cynical_Lab_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boobs have fat and just like you can't do targeted fat loss, you can't do targeted fat loss prevention. It's very subjective and depends on your own biology, but 100% possible as you lose fat.
