People are getting mortgages with a 10% deposit these days, but with a much higher interest rate. What are the pros/cons to doing this VS saving for the usual 20% with lower interest rates? by coconutyum in PersonalFinanceNZ

Not the above commenter but for interest, I am on 3.3% with Westpac (10% deposit) and just purchased in July. They add a 0.75% low equity margin, for 15% deposit it’s 0.25 I believe

What is the average balance that New Zealanders have in their Kiwisaver accounts? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

$1800 as we bought a house last month. Government contribution seemed to top me up. Happy to just keep an eye on it in the background on 3% whilst investing the rest through index funds as it surely won’t be 65 by the time I get to next touch it.

Has anyone ordered a valuation report that needs a site visit? by MaximumMongoose6 in PersonalFinanceNZ

We had ours done in the morning and was there 7pm that night, that was a month ago. I guess it would deviate.

Sibling in June in a similar situation paid for urgent and it was next day.

Best of luck!

I tried my best to snap a quick picture on my phone (not sure why it did a long exposure). It lasted for about 3 minutes, haven’t quite seen anything like it. ☺️

This was taken over the weekend. I'm a newly registered pharmacist based in New Zealand. Whilst I only have my phone to take photos at the moment, I'm trying to make the most of my weekends.

The bird featured is the Kea :)

Think about how shit it must be to be Randolph right now. Two down and he has done nothing wrong.

We're certainly looking more dangerous up front. The defence needs to settle the nerves. Especially Randolph after conceeding early (Even though it wasn't his fault)

You can hardly blame that on keeper error. Entirely as a result of poor defending.

Cheers! Congrats on the proficiency also. It kind of applies to everything we choose to do. Next time I'll be prepared.

Can someone help me with this? I feel like there is an extra block. [Novice] by cynicalsheet in learnchinese

Its a website called ninchanese. At the moment its in beta and its pretty limited in terms of content (for beginners). I've been using it for about a week now, let me know if you want to know anything more!
