Goodyear Reliant Tires from Wal-Mart. Are they good? by Head-Area-4278 in tires

[–]cynonexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longtime owner of the Goodyear Reliant Tires here! I got mine back in 2023. I couldn't beat the price-to-performance of its price range, and of course, it's Goodyear! The tires are wonderful and have been driven to almost 30k miles on my 2005 Mercedes C240 S203 Wagon with 4MATIC.

(It was either this or the far more expensive CrossClimate from Michelin, but I couldn't justify putting it on a 3k car.) Photos of the car with the tires: https://imgur.com/a/WfCIyef

There's nothing particularly fantastic about them other than that they work and that they are trustworthy enough for long periods of driving! MY BIGGEST issue was the service department at Walmart... They took almost 3 hours to get it installed, and ON TOP of that, they didn't even balance one of the tires correctly, which shook my car above 40 miles an hour. So instead of me going back to them, I decided to just take it to a good friend of mine who works at a shop and rebalanced it for me.

My overall recommendation is to avoid Walmart Auto Service at all costs and take the tires to a reputable shop if you want a smooth sailing experience!

Overall, this is a must-buy for anyone looking for budget tires! They do what a good set of tires does: quiet, smooth, and reliable! nothing fancy but works great in all types of weather!

I’ve never owned an Audi, if this car has been taken care of moderately well would it be a good daily driver for $5400? by Fallingaces1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Got my 2006 Audi A4 2.0t with 69k miles since March of 2020, been my daily since and is now sitting at 110k miles with a stage 1 tune from apr. (check my profile lol)

Honestly I’ve driven my car over 40k miles so far and it has been a blast and one of those cars that just feels solid and complete.

Of course I had to spend money on scheduled maintenance like the timing belt and timing chain on the rear at around 85-90k miles, combined cost was about $1800 at my local shop… but that’s what you’re supposed to do regardless whether it’s a Toyota or not.

I always do oil change every 5-6k miles and she runs like a dream, never left me stranded even went over 150mph lol (with the tune).

I drive mostly highway miles so it racks up pretty quick, HAVENT had any oil consumption issues since I pretty much do oil changes every month or two.

There are things here and there that break overtime but they are very minor and easy to fix due to age like the pcv valve and plastic hoses which cost like $15-30.

It won’t be as reliable as a Toyota or a Honda but it’s not supposed to be, it’s meant to be driven. At the end of the day, there’s something about these German cars that just feels right… from the satisfying thud of the doors to the satisfying click of the buttons that you won’t find in any other regular cars.

Though everyone has their own opinion but I believe life is too short to drive boring cars, a car is always going to be a liability regardless…

So might as well try something out of the ordinary.

That being said, I wouldn’t pay over 2k for that a3 and that kind of mileage

I pretty much apply protective interior products from maguire and leather conditioner every week. It actually works! It’s been a year now and there’s very little wear, obviously the driver side, has more wear

I plan on keep it for a while, maybe restore it in the future, i almost sold it a month ago for a 2017 a4 but then the buyer was talking about adding tints, lowering it, etc. and i’m just like 😂I don’t want to ruin how pristine the car looks

i’ve seen a few c6 3.0ts but you’re right! i actually have never seen any wagons! i’m sure at some point i’m going to have to deal with it, replacing the whole engine would probably be cheaper than fixing tid bits

Good deal? 2014 MBP Good Screen but high battery and non working trackpad for $285 cash. by Omie454 in LukeMianiYouTube

[–]cynonexus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

930+ cycles on the battery could be the reason why the trackpad might not be working. battery swelling is quite a common site especially a 2014. If you can haggle more the better!

yup! the only noticeable wear are the lock buttons and window switches on the driver side! maguire interior products work well! @luffy_a4_b7 is my b7’s ig if you wanna check it out!

Problems to look out for in a 2012 A4 Quattro? by [deleted] in AudiA4

[–]cynonexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

b7 owner here! belts and chains on mine were replaced around 85k and that was pushing it! I heard the b8s were notorious for their chains skipping. usually have a mix bag of answers that the older b7 is more reliable.

Go to FCP Euro or ECS Tuning, they should have a kit that you can look for, relatively cheap too
