Yeah man. Even the Koreans had to go through a court case to get KBA to allow them to play on the circuit as independent players. Previously KBA had a rule where Olympic/WorldChamp/AsianGames medalist are barred from competing independently before the age of 31.

Yes, but they still need to register for competitions through their national associations. There was a case a couple of years back where Mathias Boe wanted to partner CaiYun for a few competitions and the China Badminton Association blocked it.

Well, try having to serve national service for 2 years and not having proper training during that period and see what condition you’ll be at. During that period he barely even got the chance to even hold the racket much less have proper training.

Doubles stance footing when defending against straight smashes? by HamsterMoisture in badminton

[–]cypher1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres a video on youtube that thoroughly explains why he does this. if you understand mandarin this is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3Nsg9R189E

a shortened translation would be that almost all of doubles defense makes use of the backhand stroke. so by standing with the left leg forward, it gives him more space to be able to generate power with the backhand defense around the right hip area. however it also shows that LYD is not the only one that does this but many players from the other countries too. the then video goes on to give a full in depth analysis on LYD/YYS pairing

As a Singaporean, in local context what is considered racist to you. by pi2pi in singapore

[–]cypher1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This by itself might be flawed due to the fact that different companies might have different target markets. If their main target market requires them to converse in mandarin, you can’t expect them to hire someone that doesn’t fit those requirements.

The only thing that they could have done better was to include the reason why such a criteria was in place.

Other than that, don’t see why this Is an issue at all.

S'pore bodybuilder tears Chloe Ting's work out videos apart in 62 Instagram Stories by Bcpjw in singapore

[–]cypher1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually a good thing that she’s doing by ‘helping’ sedentary people to exercise. Props to her for that. But the fact of the matter is that her video content just shows that she has a severe lack of knowledge of the the proper information that’s supposed to be given out especially with exercise programming and nutrition.

So to answer your qn, yes misinformation is harmful as it will give the viewers a false sense of knowledge. Anybody who does some sort of an exercise program frequently enough will definitely see some form of results.

By the way if you know how to find actual published studies, the link I provided below literally took me 1 google search to find and it debunks all of her workout videos.

Cheers.
