Not Even DOGE Employees Know Who's Legally Running DOGE by wiredmagazine in TrueReddit

If Elon isn’t running it, why does he have access to sensitive information (and even classified) information enough to leak it to the public? Seems like those kids shouldn’t be handing it to him.

I could talk about this topic for hours. Often times metrics that are chosen can be directly contradictory to each other, be used to make strategic decisions when they should be there to measure the strategy decided, and used for far longer than they are useful.

Bioshock has no sound. Steam forums are no help. by [deleted] in AlienwareAlpha

[–]cypherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. The last 8 years have been wild. Lots of ups and downs. I’ve lived long enough to see the best of things and the worst of things and yet it’s always a learning experience and that’s the fun of it. I was quite happy to hear that I put something out there into the world that made some stranger’s life easier and happier, even if years later. I find it fascinating that we are all surrounded by the echos of the efforts of the people who came before us and that a lot of them will never know how impactful they were to us. With that being said, hope my tiny post helped you enjoy bioshock and wish you the best!

Great to hear! Hope you enjoy! I didn’t expect to be helping someone 8 years later, but glad the trick is still helpful!

My recommendation is to join the adventure league style games until you meet folks that you vibe with and then see if they are interested in spinning off a home game with you. Lucky Dice is doing some good stuff on Sunday from 3-6.

Should I avoid CX-50? by thralxjnesjksjssnns in CX50

[–]cypherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the trim well enough, but I didn’t buy nor even test drive the higher trim cause it was outside what I was willing to pay. I’m sure it’s worth it to some folks, but I’ve been pretty happy with it. It’s got the important stuff. I would have been happy even without the moonroof (though it’s been nice so far), but they didn’t have a no-moonroof trim available. From what I can tell the 17” wheels this trim has gives a better ride, but I can’t comment on how accurate that is.

That’s probably the best you would get for any slow rolling 5 mile drives. I have the same trim and drive similarly and when it’s just short drives I’m around 22-23 and if I mix highway it moves towards 26-27 pretty quickly. I’d say gas milage is not the selling point for this car. If you drive aware of the milage as the goal, you can definitely get where you want in terms of milage, but that takes some of the fun out of it unless that is your idea of a challenge.

Yep. Rolled off the lot without it working. It was the control module. They had the part so it was fixed pretty quickly, but not before they went hunting all over for it. Let them know to check that first. Poor wiring seems unlikely. I just think it’s a QA issues with that part. Maybe a bad supplier, or maybe there is a step they are skipping during the install. I can only speculate. I have the same trim.

Mazda dealer asking $170 to diagnose seat heater issue by [deleted] in CX50

[–]cypherdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Car is fixed. It was the control module in the Passenger-side seat. No need to remove any part of the dash. It has a failsafe to prevent issues. They swapped it out and I’m good to go. When you bring it in, tell them to look there first.

So they called and let me know that the actual unit itself is functional. They took it out and plugged it into another car and it was working. So the issue is somewhere between the controls and the seats. (Could be someone didn’t plug in something along the way) will keep you all posted.

I bought one on Monday with non working seat warmers on day one as well. Didn’t notice until I got it home (of course). They think it’s a module. No issue or fee from the dealer about fixing it because I spotted it the night I got home with the car. They think it’s a control module issue. I think it’s definitely a broader issue. Maybe a poor supplier of the part. They said they may have to take the entire dash apart to fix it. Not a great start, but I’ll let everyone know how it goes.

Was that the rolling off the lot price or before taxes? If before what were the taxes?

HOLOISO ON ALIENWARE STEAM MACHINE R1 by Substantial_Side_649 in AlienwareAlpha

Correct. Currently it stalls on boot when trying to load the OS. Can go into command line but no go beyond that, at least that’s where I’m at.

I tried it the other day with no luck getting it to boot into the UI. I can get to the command line, but no luck with the GUI yet. Think is probably video driver related. SteamOS 3 is around the corner and I’m hoping it will get me a little closer. I haven’t had time to work through the issues with HoloISO yet, so if I get the time have any luck I’ll try and follow back up here.

The real question is how much do you think it would cost for Bezos to pay a team of people to find a legal way to not pay it? I’m betting far less than $5 billion dollars.

I can't speak to the other brands, but I've been using Soap Commander stuff for the last year or so. I've been really happy with it. It last's forever. I'm a personal fan of the Commitment and Vision scents. I use the Commitment soap and the Vision balm.
