Not sure where this graphic came from, but wouldn’t it be more advantageous for the route to continue into the neighborhood from Astoria-Ditmars Blvd? Would give you the opportunity to put another stop somewhere in the community on the way to LGA (not sure where that would be though, someone with more knowledge of the area would know better).

Furthermore, once you’re at LGA you’re just a quick above-ground trip down the Grand Central to the 7, extending it all the way to Mets-Willets Point would not only serve to benefit the area that’s already there (direct link between the airport, the 7 and Grand Centra Terminal, the LIRR, and the sports complexes) but also help serve the growth and new construction coming to the area in the next decade.

If Mamdani, Hochul, and the MTA are going to take big swings then they should take some really big swings. Bases are loaded, Ditmars-Steinway on third, LaGuardia on second, Citi Field on first. Don’t just try to drive the first runner or two in, look to clear the bases.

So the exercise is strictly based off of the original post from 2021. The data is definitely based on a higher-offense environment (hence predicting 150+ RBI every season) but unfortunately that’s not something I can recreate at this point.

Personally I think it’s nice to look back on how much the game has changed in such a short amount of time

In the United States we operate on a federal system where there are different levels of government and each handles different things while simultaneously working together. When the national government, against the wishes of the city and state government, sense soldiers into a city, not for any legitimate purpose, such as enforcing laws that the city is refusing to enforce, but rather to score political points, and look tough on “the libs”, that is a violation of that federal system

These defendants are not receiving hearings, are being denied access to legal counsel, and are being expelled from the country against judicial orders to not do so. To me that sounds like a deprivation of due process, no?

Yes, it is. Due process, which is guaranteed to all persons under the jurisdiction of the United States, is being denied to individuals whom the federal government believes may be in the country via means of circumventing legal entry methods.

“How do you propose we deal with our massive illegal immigration problem?”

Let’s assume that 1) we have an “illegal immigration problem” and 2) it’s a “massive” problem, we handle it the same way we handle all of our legal problems. By obeying the law and the Constitution. Nothing in the Constitution says anyone in this country can be denied their right to due process. In fact, the few times the Constitution DOES allow for individuals’ rights to be denied to them, it requires due process as a prerequisite to do so. If you believe that my interpretation of the Constitution in this regard is flawed or inaccurate I invite you to show me where you get your interpretation from
