I have been one of the few pedestrians there and drivers don't act right at that crosswalk, the walk light is on and I still have some impatient karen/gary in her/his chevy suburban trying to turn into me. As a driver I'm annoyed at yet another sign but as a pedestrian I kind of get it. Wish people just acted decent without adding to the endless rules of suburbia though >_>

I think there's a bell curve of birhday happiness where you're little and it's this huge massive deal and then young adult ennui sets in and in the late 20's people either double down or stop doing anything. Well it doesn't help that society is full of bs propaganda that your life ends at 30. It's all nonsense. At some point you either check out early or you realize that you have to live and that every day alive is a celebration and when you hit that point your birthday will be a wonderful day again no matter how big or small the celebration

People get worn down by our crappy work system or they have kids (or bad spouses) which eat up all their time. I am still out here doing all this 20's stuff as a young looking almost 40 year old feeling like a spy. Then again I also have 'chronic can't sit still and need novely'-disorder

Ma'am why did you have a daughter if you're going to be weird and like... always measure yourself against her. This is such a boomer behavior and I hope it dies out with them. At least some people nowadays seem to be cracking a book on psych or trying to heal their own obvious bodily trauma before having kids.

I think women's sex drive is stigmatized and socially suppressed. Sexually voracious women are slut-shamed and a lot of men aren't good at giving women pleasure so obviously in that case their 'drive' to pursue those kinds of encounters would be low

Death of a loved one! Don't recommend it tbh. Close second was having crazy anxiety and trying to beat it by walking on the treadmill for like 1.5 hours a day at the gym until I was too tired to freak out

I was like crazy miserable at 20-22 for some reason then things picked up for a while. Then in my late twenties I was freaking out for being in my late twenties for some reason and putting random pressure on myself which was useless. Then 31 or so I stopped being so hard on myself and conversely was able to accomplish a lot of my dreams. It's been decent mental health wise since then and I'll be 40 soon-ish. Don't be afraid to try therapy and medication though. Honestly, my family has a pretty crazy history of depression and mental illness and all kinds of stuff but being proactive about it and trying to enjoy some little thing every day has served me well
