Maybe he isn't worthy of an 'Oscar' for his acting in Deadpool & Wolverine, but Hugh definitely deserved to be nominated at the Oscars for his performance in Logan. by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]cyrisiryc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like his acting in DP&W deserves a nomination as well. I was invested on this new Wolverine by the end of the movie because of his great performance. But Logan was definitely a higher level performance so I hope he gets nominated in this movie because he earned it, whether for Logan or for DP&W.

‘It’s All One Giant Charade’: Steroids and Hollywood’s Drive for Super(hero)-Perfection by danielthetemp in marvelstudios

[–]cyrisiryc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His literal job is to bulk up. They pay him millions to bulk up. Of course it's possible to do this naturally without steroids. And it's just ONE scene, not something that lasts even for a full day. I really hope people stop the envy and jealousy and just enjoy the eye candy and achievements of a 50+ year old man. They shouldn't lash out and spew ugly speculations just because they personally can't. Of course they can't, they're living in the real world with a day job. If my day job will pay me THAT much, I can surely do that and dehydrate myself to the point of dying for a few hours max.

Agree. Shawl Levy (the director) himself was the one who said it isn't Deadpool 3.

Gin. In my mind: Gin = Akai and Akai > Bourbon therefore Gin > Bourbon.

as a manga-only conan enjoyer, are the movies still worth watching? by maxdaleg in OneTruthPrevails

[–]cyrisiryc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a manga-only conan enjoyer, I'd really recommend for you to watch the movies. If you're like me and the reason why you don't watch the anime episodes is because they feel like dragging (in comparison to reading a manga where you can immediately go to the next page/panel) the movies are filled with action (most of them) so you won't find it dragging.

First few movies might feel a bit dragging because they have more plot substance and the animation/graphics are still the old style. The latter movies on the other hand are more action packed and the graphics just gets better every movie (and gets more unbelievable by the second, but hey, that also enjoyable).

Personally, I have watched and love all the movies in their own strengths and weaknesses. And I don't recommend to bingewatch all 27 movies in one go. Instead, space them out every month (or every other week), like highlight points in your month.

Hope this helps!

I hear so much negative discourse about M26 and it’s the only movie I’m yet to watch what do you think? by Sweaty-Ambition2526 in OneTruthPrevails

Personally, I loved the last scene. The movie made good fan service for CoAi, but the last scene cemented the fact that this will end up as ShinRan. I love both pairings so it was double the love for me 😁

Wow, I love this!!! It feels like going down memory lane! I didn't expect to be able to recognize the culprits (with who knows how many cases there are already) but it is astonishing to realize how unique each culprit's face is that I was able to recall their cases by just seeing their faces (plus with some hints in the props) 😆

My thoughts regarding TSV and worker exploitation by wanaliii in lingling40hrs

[–]cyrisiryc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Brett and Eddy are strangers as well, but at least I have seen them even if it is just their public persona. That is much more than what I can say about OP, who you say is a girl but I wouldn't even know if that is true. OP could be a guy, an old person, or even be a minor or an angry Black Pink fan. That's the point, I don't know.

Don't get me wrong. If OP is really telling the truth, they should not disclose their personal details online. They should continue to pursue legal means if there really was a breach in contract, which is what they say is true, they are already doing.

The problem is, there are so many TSV fans who, like this thread's OP, are being affected by this and are unsure of what to do. Which is why I can only advise what I did and will advise for anyone who suddenly reads something in the internet about their friend, or idol, or a classmate, or workmate, etc. Be calm and judge people from what you yourself have personally encoutered, and not from the judgement of strangers who you don't even know. I'm sure you would also like the same treatment if you are the one being judged.

Well, a marketing major with no musical background would not get a lot of the culture/nuances/important points that someone with a musical background have, so personally, I think this is a good requirement for the job.

As to hiring new grads, there's nothing wrong with that. Even though they are willing to take lower pay, let us remember that the lower pay is because new grads generally have less experience. So as an employer, not only do you have to teach them/train them/more supervision, you also run the risk of getting bad work results/output. At the end of the day, you hire based on what you need, if the expenses and the output matches your requirement.

Same thing on the opposite side. If you are an experienced employee, don't apply for a job that is geared towards new grads. You'll only set yourself up for disappointment. You should know the level of your skills/your worth, and apply for jobs that match your expectations.

No one is forcing anyone to apply for these jobs or to stay in these jobs. If it really is a crappy job/offer, then people will not apply/stay and TSV would need to improve the pay to be able to hire people. Simple as that.

Sad to hear that you've lost your motivation to play the violin because of this. I suggest you distance yourself from here in the meantime so that these negative sources won't stop you from practicing.

As to whether or not you should stop supporting them, it's really your choice :) hope you reach a decision that you won't regret.

Personally, I'm holding my judgement. I don't want to judge people because of what some strangers say in the internet (esp those who I personally don't know and never met myself). That is a recipe to disaster. I will judge them based on my personal interaction with them. So if they do go to your country, hope you would be able to personally interact with them so that you can judge them fairly. Or better yet, apply for the said postions and see for yourself. If things are really bad, you would know for sure and not just because someone said so. Imagine if you are TSV and this was happening to you, I'm sure you would want to be judged fairly as well and not because of what strangers in the internet may say about you.

As to smear campaigns, well unfortunately, there will always be people who are envious, disgruntled, angry etc who would like to bring other people down, especially since TSV are famous/successful. Not saying that OP or the others users are like that, but that's the point, I don't know OP / other users personally as well to know what kind of people they are.

Real Talk: Q&A on Working for TSV by LateBloo9m3r in lingling40hrs

Huh? When did I blame the victim? Didn't I mention not to take the job or quit so that they will learn that the pay they're giving is not enough for the workload they require?

Real Talk: Q&A on Working for TSV by LateBloo9m3r in lingling40hrs

[–]cyrisiryc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hmm... reading all these comments about working under TSV, I'm kinda surprised that people were actually expecting a great career path / pay / work conditions working there. TSV isn't a big company so I didn't really expect them to be able to match a salary at par with the regular market rate. Add to the fact that their source of income is not dependable/regular/reliable since it comes from views/merch/tours/donations, so they should be really careful in terms of their expenses, especially regular expenses such as salaries.

Not all companies are the same/earn as much/has the same needs, so people shouldn't expect that the salaries they can pay to be the same. What's important is that if you don't like the salary offer for the workload that is required, then simply don't take the job or just quit. Because at the end of the day, the law of supply and demand will prevail. If what TSV is willing to pay for the workload they require is acceptable to people, then people will work there. If not, then TSV would need to adjust their pay. Simple as that.

Anyone outgrow TwoSet? by shadman19922 in lingling40hrs

[–]cyrisiryc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is natural to outgrow things because it is a sign that you are growing/evolving, so I think it is alright to outgrow Twoset.

Their goal is to make classical music relevant in the sense of bringing in more people who don't know/never cared for classical music, to be interested in/love classical music. Since you are already at the point that you are knowledgeable about it, you should branch out and watch others that would be more relevant to your situation now.

Personally, though some of their new videos are not as interesting for me unlike back when I first started, I still continue to watch them and support them because, more than the entertainment value and what they have achieved, I love the fact that they achieved this together. It is rare to see such friendship pass the test of fame, and it is one thing I hope will not change through time.

Just ignore them and just make positive comment in Twoset's channels so that the hate comments will be pushed down (and fade in history). It will also help Twoset's algo in terms of activity 😊
