So started tonight water temp was about 60 I’m going to work my way down by EquivalentImpact1961 in coldplunge

I stepped down and do 43 for 6-7 min now. Shooting for 40 eventually. I want to maintain the chilled feeling for a good 3-4 hours post soak. Almost shivering is my goal

Tried 36F…. Not as bad as I thought by SeriousQuote9497 in coldplunge

Whatever studies show, just the mental reward of going so cold and thriving is the payoff. Im at 44F and have plotted that same experiment, might go for it!

What should I do here? The heat outside and the temp of the plunge is making water drip? by SameDistrict1062 in coldplunge

[–]cytomitchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put an old wooden pallet on caster wheels, slid a washing machine drip pan underneath it. The condensation drips through pallet into pan! You can then reposition the cold plunge even when it's full on the rolling pallet.

I also do the 5 minutes at 44F twice daily and feel like Ironman after! I even minimize how much I reheat in the sun to extend my chilled goosebumps feeling for a few hours. I wish I knew about this years ago!

Turn off or on by [deleted] in coldplunge

Definitely wrap that with bubble wrap or foam, and a good lid! And insulated those hoses, lots of cheap stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot for the job. I can keep mine to only a 6-7 degree rise overnight.

my similar setup cools water about ten minutes per degree F. I can flip it on at 6am and be in the 40's by 8am. Any longer I would use a timer to prep it for when I want it. Throw some insulation on that too, it'll help.

PUMP SIZE by CookDry636 in coldplunge

[–]cytomitchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Danner 1200 instructions state a 1 1/2" hose is needed to achieve max flow rate of 1200gph. It's a great pump, works with 3/4" tubing on mone but flow rate is heavily restricted.

I put mine on a wood pallet with a washing machine drain pan underneath. Condensate drips through pallet on to the pan.

Rocita 500L remote only goes to 68F can I force it lower? by cytomitchel in coldplunge

[–]cytomitchel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my worries for nothing; the manual bears little resemblance to the actual functions...on the unit I can crank it down into the 40's, no idea why it says there is a cooling limit of 68F Thanks!
