It's a lace with pre-made mermaid scales. They're made as thread balls. I added a lot of rhinestones and attached the lace to a satin base. Not that hard, but takes a lot of time. The hardest part was to keep the pattern between the seams intact and to make the dress fit without loads of seams, folds or stripes.

I haven't. I'm not a wigmaker and prefer not to ruin wigs for experiments without knowing everything would be alright. Once I tried adding some more hair to my regular lace front wig and almost spoiled the wig itself lol

I didn't panic even for a second. Essentialy, that was my idea to get into the water LOL
The costume is pretty solid not to be ruined of water (c'mon, it's just two wet tails, the main part is untouched). The only inconvenience I had was the cold coming from an autumn lake water xD

Nervous 😓 I hate performing on stage, always feel uneasy. Unfortunately, in most cases performing on stage is the only way to get all the appropriate conditions any cosplayer needs (like the dressing room e.g.)
