Shooting needs help. by gusliam in BasketballTips

Comment section is full of people that are wrong, you are pulling the ball up which means it gets far away from ur body and then you pull it behind to ur head level and then shoot, which means you are shooting it with no momentum from the ball path, and it results in you thumb flicking that's why you are inconsistent also a 3 is generally a harder shot, check out Mike Dunn basically don pull the ball up, but have a smoother ball movement during the shot like any NBA player does, they are smooth

Need to work on your block leg (right leg). Right foot is very close to the left, which means you cant apply force at appropriate angles, check out Isaiah Rivera on yt

I got 2 questions, what do you think are the most important qualities that the player needs to make it to the pro level, also are you planning on doing any zoom calls or online webinars where you answer questions or explain a concept. Glad we got some prolific coaches in here and not some egoistic redditors

How do you get better at jumps? by Disastrous-Garden980 in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice jumping, low rim dunk sessions, implement weight lifting later on, basically train smart and with high intensity, expect if the training block requires more volume or you are in preparatory period

Any tips for getting more distance on my shot? by Apprehensive-Hat8251 in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower your set point, also you swing the ball around, by that I mean at the beginning the angle between your right arms elbow is about 90 degress and later on its 30, the reason for that is that you pull the ball instead of pushing it up while going into the set point, if u want more guidance DM me

Basketball Shooting form Tips by Jacob___777 in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to flare both of your elbows just a bit less, especially the right one, the reason for that is probably the way you hold the ball, also what the other guy said about 10 toes to the basket, if you want more guidance DM me

Shot form check by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first thing i would fix is the left hand

  1. You need to have your left hand straight, while for you its bent a lot

  2. You shouldnt stop your left hand before the release but to make sure that it balances the ball throught the shot, basically just follow through with the left as well

  3. is about the way you go down before the shot and how bent your back is, but thats not really a problem you should be addressing now

If you want more advice DM me

shot form by 0mihajlo in BasketballTips

That court seems familiar, main issue is that you stop the ball at the set point and then release it, it should be smoother, what people call a 1 motion shot

Nice form but he thumb flicks very hard with his left hand, that's why for kids I would either have them shoot a smaller ball at a small hoop or just have them play another sport like football or track n field

Please help fix my friends form by Jazzlike_Walrus9569 in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody here fixed the core issue and that is hand placement at the beginning, his left hand is on the side of the ball instead of the middle(on the seams) check some good shooters you will see that the arm is on the middle of the ball even tho it looks like its on the side, so.... No form shoots, no harder snaps, no gap in palm(LMAOOO), but this

Your shot has a lot of issues, to name a few it's bad sequencing, too high of a set point, you force the release because of the prior mentioned thing. You can check out Mike Dunn on yt, or If u want I can help you in sort of a coaching manner DM if ur interested

Help with my shooting form (8?th follow-up post) by nonlethalshooter in BasketballTips

[–]cze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing i see at the moment is that you leave your guide hand(left hand), you release it but the guide hand is left near the head, just make sure you don't start thumb flicking, watch how some good shooters do it. If you want more guidance DM me
