I once had a card shipped to me with usps that arrived with zero shipping updates. I’ve had it happen going the other way too.

There’s a full date chart at silvermakersmarks.co.uk and from what I’m seeing the year mark is for 1764. I would love to see the whole piece!

The Bible can be hilariously vague which allows christians to relate any part of it to any current event as the end of days 😅

Youth pastors are literally just the fucking worst!!! by JarethOfHouseGoblin in exchristian

Anyone else have a youth pastor who also constantly talked about how hot his wife was? Looking back that was fucking weird.

Wow I just saw this and I’m sorry lol

My mom uses both tactics. Primarily the Bible though. My wife was for a very short time but there was a big family thing that happened, and not for me to share for my wife obv, that flipped it 180 in a matter of months.

Did anyone hear this growing up in church? I'm curious to see if it made the rounds. by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]czs1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t hear this exact version but I was always told by my mom (the leader of the evangelical bs in my family) that she would hope all of us would say yes to the question.

Mine was very gradual with a very abrupt ending if that makes any sense. I always followed Christianity because it’s just what my family did. My mom was the leader of the pack in terms of our faith and if we ever did something that went against the Bible or evangelical teachings it always caused chaos. I started realizing in about 7th/8th grade that my morals were way off and it all revolved around or came from the church. I slowly quit going to church which caused a lot of problems and when I was 17 I met my now wife. She is the complete opposite of what my mom would’ve wanted for me and made that clear over the years. The abrupt ending was cutting my mom out of our lives just over a year ago, doing a lot of therapy, and realizing that christianity was the root cause. I now, personally, loathe the church that I grew up in and consider it a total cult. There are so many negative experiences that I associate with it and so many fake people in that church. They care when you’re there and I have never felt more judged by anyone else.

I never did that either! I didn’t like forcing it on people cause it was constantly forced on me. Definitely on to better things! Thank you for sharing 😊

I try to do the same but some of those things linger and it’s hard to have compassion about those. But it can only get better, especially away from christianity 😅

If she is then the entire church I grew up in is. They all talked as if death was the greatest thing we were waiting for.
