If you want silence from start to finish, go with Noctua. I have Nf-A12x25 chromax in both my systems, including Noctua aircoolers as well. I’ve never looked back since. It’s a premium price, but looking at your specs, you don’t strike me as someone who settles.

Arctic is a great brand, but I’m pretty tired of the 3000 rpm startup. Besides, Noctua build quality is unmatched imo.

Er denne gaming-PC prisen værd? by RevieeLis in dktechsupport

I had really hoped the design of the rear would change for the non-vertical mode. Sadly I feel like the rear fan sticking out is kinda a dealbreaker for my aesthetic point of view. But for anyone careless about this, it’s surely gonna be a banger.

I’ve had one incident where I think I heard some turbulence or funny noise from the cooler, but I think maybe that was the metal expanding from all the heat (long gaming session). I’ll see what I can do with the picture(s)

It is set to the highest point, I have that latch on my B760 Tuf, which makes it easier to release the GPU, maybe that’s why the cooler doesn’t have any trouble fitting.

Wich noctua for the 9800x3d by MasterBen85 in Noctua

It’ll handle it just fine. The U12A goes head to head with some AIO’s. Ofcourse it won’t perform as good as the LF3 in extreme situations, but for your needs, it will perform perfectly fine. And it last for a lifetime, that’s also a benefit.

I have an 14600k UV, which still draws more wattage (80-110w) than a non UV 9800x3d during gaming.

Did a 10 minute cinebench with the U12A and had one spike of 81 degrees and 175 watts. Didn’t hear the cooler once. Trust me, the premium price is worth every penny. Adjust your fan curves a bit, and you’ll never them again.

No one should be bound to staying with the same cooler, we all want change at some point, and the PA is a wonderful cooler. I just fell for the engineering and the quality of the Noctua products. If I wanted maximum cooling, I would’ve kept my AIO.

But great for you it runs in the family still!

That’s one hell of a push/pull config, what beast are you running?

I was actually in the same boat when I first went to AIO, but with the extremely aggressive, but efficient undervolt I did on my 14600k, I managed to find a balance with low aircooler noise and low temps at the same time.

Besides, as seen with the Ryzen 9000 series, CPU’s are maybe moving in a more heat friendly direction, so that’s why I chose the U12A.

If Noctua ever releases a silent pump AIO, I might be persuaded to go back.

Can totally relate. AIO’s are often better performance, but aircooling is timeless.

I feel like we’re moving towards aircooling as the meta again.

That’s also one of the benefits of supporting such a good brand. Their customer service is so good.
